This was Dehner's first final. Stalba had three wins and three losses in final round appearances before this race. He was in the Super Gas and Super Comp finals here in 2003, winning in Super Gas that year.

He added to his win total this year when he got out of the gate more quickly than Dehner and stayed out front to take a close win. Tom Stalba Jr's MOV: 0.0074 seconds (approximately 20 inches).
