Warford was unable to repair the carnage from his first-round engine explosion and Wilkes got a freebie. He faces Keyes in the semifinals.

Teuton had a great light, but could not hold off Pancake despite running his best time of the weekend. Jim Pancake's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.043), 330 ft(-0.027), 660ft(-0.005), 1,000ft(0.013). MOV: 0.0313 seconds (approximately 7 feet). Pancake races Hensley in the semifinals.
