KENT, Wash. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 19th annual Schuck's Auto Supply NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Tony Rizzo Runs 12.593/70.30, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.959/200.02, Was #22
Right Lane: Tom Lee Runs 6.789/205.01, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.852/203.68, Was #19
Rizzo with problems right off the starting line. We have had a little cloud cover mover over the track, but it still hot out. Lee with a real nice pass to move into the top half of the show. Tom Lee's incremental times: 60ft-1.033 sec., 330ft-2.885, 660ft-4.387/162.65mph, 1,000ft-5.690
Left Lane: Mike Thomas Runs 6.799/203.77, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.887/201.79, Was #21
Right Lane: Shaun Carlson Runs 6.791/203.77, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.845/203.06, Was #19
Carlson goes from the outside of the show to the top half of the field. Thomas gets in the show. These two bump out Pawuk and Naylor.
Left Lane: Ben Watson Runs 6.833/201.97, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.860/201.37, Was #21
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.769/204.88, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.839/187.73, Was #20
Edwards with a real nice pass to get into the top half of the show and that bumps out Krisher. Watson with his best pass, but doesn't get into the show.
Left Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 6.776/203.98, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.817/203.31, Was #18
Right Lane: Tom Martino Runs 6.768/204.98, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.837/204.05, Was #21
A couple real nice pass here to get both of these guys into the top half of the show. They bump out Yates and Enders.
Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.776/203.37, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.812/202.64, Was #18
Right Lane: Max Naylor Runs 6.769/204.17, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.835/203.12, Was #21
These two like the previous pair get into the top half of the show and they bump out Thomas and Allen Johnson.
Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.741/204.91, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.798/203.83, Was #16
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.777/205.16, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.816/204.57, Was #20
Stanfield with a great run to spilt up the two Summit cars at the top of the field. Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.818, 660ft-4.334/162.29mph, 1,000ft-5.641 Krisher gets back into the show. They bump out Stevens and Thomas.
Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.744/205.13, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.792/203.89, Was #16
Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.760/205.22, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.805/204.82, Was #20
Yates gets back into the show in the top half of the field and Johnson gets off the bubble. Yates bumps out Carlson who has already made his pass tonight.
Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.732/205.98, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.783/204.82, Was #14
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.751/204.60, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.800/203.49, Was #20
WJ who spent time testing at Yakima yesterday must of figured out his problems that have plagued him the last couple races. WJ goes to the top of the field with a great pass. Warren Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.006 sec., 330ft-2.822, 660ft-4.335/162.80mph, 1,000ft-5.636 Allen Johnson gets back into the show the top half and he bumps out Lee who has also already made his run tonight.
Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.726/205.32, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.779/204.42, Was #15
Right Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.761/204.60, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.793/204.14, Was #19
Stevens gets back into the show and that bumps out Morgan. Gaines with a great pass to go to the top of the list. V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.828, 660ft-4.325/162.94mph, 1,000ft-5.628
Left Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.728/206.07, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.765/205.51, Was #10
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.760/204.63, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.786/204.14, Was #17
Morgan who just got bumped out gets back in and that bumps out Krisher and puts Erica Enders is on the bump spot at 6.776. Connolly with a real nice pass to go to the number two spot.
Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.690/206.80, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.753/205.76, Was #8
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.742/206.51, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.735/206.48, Was #4
Line with a great looking pass, straight down the groove for the number one spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-1.005 sec., 330ft-2.804, 660ft-4.306/163.97mph, 1,000ft-5.600 No help here for Anderson and he drops back to the number five spot after starting the session in the number one spot.
