MORRISON, Colo. - Results of round 3 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 27th annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals:

Pedregon has a 3-1 overall record against Gilbertson in eliminations. Gilby is looking for his second final round appearence at this event.

Gilbertson struck the tires at about 250 feet. Pedregon had to pedal through some early tire shake, but he had enough of an advantage to get the win.

Scelzi has a 7-5 overall record against Johnson in eliminations. Johnson's runner up finish in Top Fuel here in 1991 was with Joe Amato.

A good looking drag race. They left dead even, and Scelzi steadily pulled ahead at every increment to win by about two car lengths. He'll have lane choice in the final round, his first final round at this event.
