Staging duel, neither wanted to stage first. After about a minute, Nobile went in first. Gillig came out on top in the staging contest and led all the way. Tony Gillig's incremental margins: 60ft(0.057), 330 ft(0.062), 660ft(0.066), 1,000ft(0.065). MOV: 0.0649 seconds (approximately 21 feet).

Morton's car made a major move out toward the wall on the launch and that had to hurt his elapsed time a bunch. Berner goes to the semifinals with laneoice against Dobbins.

Patrick's new GT-500 did a little dance on the launch, but it didn't hurt his performance much because he ran low ET of the round and will have lane choice over Gillig in the semifinals.
