GRAND BEND, Ont. - 7 p.m. - Just as the pre-race ceremonies for the Performance racing News Night of Fire was getting under way, the Pro Stock teams in the staging lanes started scrambling to turn their cars around and push them back to the pits.

Shortly thereafter, rain drops started freckling the pavement out in front of the tower.

The rain cell appears to be passing through quickly, but the track will require some grooming before the cars can make their final qualifying runs.
