Left Lane: Larry Peternel Runs 18.437/43.15, Now #30; Best prior run: 9.889/88.41, Was #30
7:27 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 60 degrees, relative humidity 44 percent, barometer 29.71 inches, adjusted altitude 470 feet, track temperature 75 degrees.
Left Lane: Jerry Hemmingson Runs 6.860/201.70, Now #26; Best prior run: 6.872/202.42, Was #26
Right Lane: Max Naylor Runs 20.735/51.53, Now #31; No Prior Run
Naylor had problems right off the line and gave up on the run. Hemmingson runs a career best ET but doesn't move up.
Left Lane: Tony Rizzo Runs 6.809/202.94, Now #25; Best prior run: 6.822/203.65, Was #25
Right Lane: Pat Herold Runs 6.879/201.70, Now #27; Best prior run: 9.384/93.41, Was #29
Left Lane: Mike Trumble Jr Runs 9.305/100.07, Now #25; Best prior run: 6.796/203.58, Was #24
Right Lane: Barry Grant Runs 6.737/204.01, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.351/148.49, Was #29
Grant makes a big improvement but still isn't in the show.
Left Lane: Bob Benza Runs 6.733/205.26, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.795/203.80, Was #24
Right Lane: Bill Shorts Runs 7.015/188.36, Now #29; Best prior run: 7.020/195.19, Was #29
Benza makes the quickest and fastest run of his career but it doesn't get him in the show. No help for Shorts.
Left Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 6.721/205.91, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.791/205.26, Was #24
Right Lane: Kevin Lawrence Runs 6.776/204.42, Now #24; Best prior run: 6.770/204.08, Was #23
Pawuk equals his quickest run ever but doesn't get in the field. No help for Lawrence.
Left Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 6.717/204.66, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.742/204.54, Was #23
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.699/206.07, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.726/205.66, Was #20
Stanfield makes a big move and gets in the top half of the field for now. Allen moves up but not enough.
Left Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.688/206.07, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.717/205.69, Was #16
Right Lane: Ben Watson Runs 6.708/205.01, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.721/204.94, Was #21
and the hits continue. Connolly makes a big move to the second spot. Watson gets in the show for now in the 13th spot. We are now three cars away from the quickest field ever.

A big improvement for both drivers, both move up.

Gaines runs a career best here and moves into the top spot for now. Johnson makes a big improvement and moves into third.

Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.684/206.35, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.713/205.82, Was #19
