Funny Car Qualifying Notes, Final Session

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 39th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 4.929/164.15, Now #17; Best prior run: 4.457/240.34, Was #17

Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 20 percent, barometer 30.11 inches, adjusted altitude 1,862 feet, track temperature 125 degrees.

Haddock starts to lose traction and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Dave Richards Runs 4.227/296.31, Now #16; Best prior run: 4.266/295.53, Was #16

Richards is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend. He will stay on the bump spot.

Left Lane: Jeff Diehl Runs 7.579/83.59, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.068/307.72, Was #14
Right Lane: Alexis DeJoria Runs 4.134/301.74, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.764/101.68, Was #18

Diehl starts to lose traction and clicks it off.

DeJoria kept it hooked up and was straight down the groove to get in the show.

Hull starts to lose traction and clicks it off.

Capps starts to lose traction and clicks it off.

Pedregon also starts to lose traction and clicks it off.

Right Lane: Blake Alexander Runs 3.959/317.12, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.927/324.44, Was #6

Alexander with a good looking pass early on, but was dancing around on the top end. He still makes the quickest pass of the session. Blake Alexander's incremental times: 60ft-0.872 sec., 330ft-2.258, 660ft-3.198/274.94 mph.

Left Lane: Daniel Wilkerson Runs 3.974/294.43, Now #8; Best prior run: 4.006/320.51, Was #9
Right Lane: Paul Lee Runs 3.964/322.27, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.889/329.02, Was #3

Wilkerson with a good looking pass until on the top end when the car slowed. He still moves into the top half of the show with his quickest pass of the weekend. Daniel Wilkerson's incremental times: 60ft-0.874 sec., 330ft-2.269, 660ft-3.197/279.50 mph.

Lee with another good looking pass, that is three good looking passes for Lee. Paul Lee's incremental times: 60ft-0.878 sec., 330ft-2.278, 660ft-3.210/278.86 mph.

Left Lane: Chad Green Runs 6.814/96.62, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.941/323.35, Was #7
Right Lane: Bob Tasca III Runs 4.026/282.36, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.876/334.65, Was #2

Green with tire shake right at the hit and clicks it off.

Tasca with a good looking pass early and then started to haze the tires and clicked it off.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.966/319.82, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.923/320.58, Was #5
Right Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.963/317.49, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.840/334.40, Was #1

Todd launched hard and kept it hooked up with another good looking pass, he will not improve. J.R. Todd's incremental times: 60ft-0.885 sec., 330ft-2.278, 660ft-3.211/278.00 mph.

Prock is straight down the groove with another good looking pass, but will not improve. He holds on to the number one spot for now. Austin Prock's incremental times: 60ft-0.870 sec., 330ft-2.254, 660ft-3.196/274.11 mph.

Left Lane: Matt Hagan Runs 4.048/283.61, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.976/312.57, Was #9
Right Lane: John Force Runs 4.033/318.24, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.901/325.37, Was #4

Hagan with a good pass early and then the car goes silent on the top end.

Force with a good clean pass.
