POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 60th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com:

Capps is 38 - 21 against Beckman in prior events.

Beckman gets the starting line advantage and pulls steadily ahead down the track for the easy win

Capps has a 0.006 quicker 60 foot time, but loses a cylinder on the left bank right after that. He gets to right after the 330 lights and has a major "BOOMER" and slows. No oil on the track.

Jack Beckman's incremental times: 60ft-0.869 sec., 330ft-2.233, 660ft-3.135/284.09 mph.

Force is 37 - 17 against Johnson Jr. in prior events.

Johnson's Charger drops a cylinder right off the line, similar to Capps, but gives it up early.

Force looked to be on the way to another strong run, but his engine dropped a cylinder or two on the left side and starts a steadily drive towards the center line. He finally has to give it up and just stays off the center line at the 1000 foot lights.

John Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.903 sec., 330ft-2.274, 660ft-3.197/276.52 mph.

Hight and DeJoria have each won 6 times against the other in prior events.

Like the prior two pair, Hight has the tire shake loose right off the line.

DeJoria's engine drops a cylinder right before the 330 lights. She drives it a little further and then gives it up early. The Camry is stuck in gear at the end of the track and we will have a brief delay to drag it off. She will give up lane choice to Beckman in round three.

1:00 p.m. Hagan is 21 - 10 against Wilkerson in prior events.

The left lane takes another victim, as Wilkerson's Mustang kicks the tire loose early and he he is done.

Hagan gets loose too down track and was there for the taking! He gives up lane choice to Force in round three.

Matt Hagan's incremental times: 60ft-0.872 sec., 330ft-2.233, 660ft-3.170/255.29 mph.
