 Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
121 Terry Haddock 746 Courtney Force
E1 0.128 6.911 91.55 ****WINNER**** 0.086 3.930 326.79

11:27 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 27 percent, barometer 28.83 inches, adjusted altitude 2,457 feet, track temperature 96 degrees.

Great TF session, with the best conditions of the weekend. This is the first time Haddock and Force have faced each other in eliminations. Courtney Force set top speed of the meet in Pomona and this was the 32nd time in history that a Funny Driver, not a Top Fuel driver, had the fastest car at a race. As rare as that is it has now happened twice in the last six races (Matt Hagan did it in St. Louis last year). Force added to her 6th place points with the second best Bonus Points count of the event. To date, she has won just over 51% of her first round races. Haddock is Force's 31st different competitor since she began racing Funny Car in 2012 Haddock is approaching his 200th race and is making his fifty-eighth round one appearance.

Force gets a great head start at the green and powers right on down the track to match her best qualifying time and improve on her track record speed in an easy win.

Haddock is a little late off the line and then loses traction about 100 feet out from the line.

Courtney Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.867 sec., 330ft-2.245, 660ft-3.183/277.49 mph.

Ron Capps' four rounds in Pomona gave him 972 for his career and that is the 6th most in NHRA history. Capps comes into today's race in first place in points from his win at Pomona. Diehl is making his thirty-fourth round one appearance and is still looking for a win. Capps is 3 - 0 against Diehl in prior events.

Diehl challenges the lights and loses. He runs a career best ET and speed to no avail.

Capps was a little late, but it didn't matter. The NAPA Charger runs another strong three second pass for the free pass to round two.

Jeff Diehl's incremental times: 60ft-0.893 sec., 330ft-2.285, 660ft-3.245/267.06 mph.
Ron Capps' incremental times: 60ft-0.872 sec., 330ft-2.250, 660ft-3.203/272.06 mph.
