Funny Car Round 2 Eliminations

POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 51st annual Auto Club NHRA Finals:

These two have each one against each other in second round races. Capps is 9 - 4 against DeJoria in prior events.

Ouch! Capps puts a stellar 3.885 on the scoreboards and takes back any National Record advantage from Beckman.

DeJoria was a little late off the line, but was no match for a charging Capps who pulled steadily ahead to the finish line.

Ron Capps' incremental times: 60ft-0.858 sec., 330ft-2.208, 660ft-3.137/276.86 mph.
Alexis DeJoria's incremental times: 60ft-0.880 sec., 330ft-2.269, 660ft-3.203/277.32 mph.

Pedregon has a six to three win advantage over Beckman in prior round two match ups. Pedregon is 16 - 13 against Beckman in prior events.

POW! Beckman flies on down the track and retakes the potential National Record by just 0.001. Pedregon was strong early, but was up in smoke before the 330 lights.

Jack Beckman's incremental times: 60ft-0.858 sec., 330ft-2.226, 660ft-3.143/282.30 mph.
Cruz Pedregon's incremental times: 60ft-0.927 sec., 330ft-2.787, 660ft-5.318/083.25 mph.

Hagan has won four of their six prior round two match ups. Hagan is 7 - 4 against Johnson Jr. in prior events.

Johnson is away first and pulls steadily ahead after Hagan kicks the tires early and gets sideways. He has the car up on two wheels, but keeps it off the wall.

TJ gives up lane choice to Capps in round three.

Tommy Johnson Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.875 sec., 330ft-2.242, 660ft-3.169/278.52 mph.

Hight has a six to three win/lose advantage in round two matchups over Worsham. Hight is 16 - 13 against Worsham in prior events.

Worsham gets a small starting line advantage and storms away. Hight was in the chase until right before the 330 lights, where the tire get loose.

In a Championship matchup, Beckman will have lane choice in round three.

Del Worsham's incremental times: 60ft-0.870 sec., 330ft-2.229, 660ft-3.152/279.73 mph.
Robert Hight's incremental times: 60ft-0.871 sec., 330ft-2.436, 660ft-3.792/170.41 mph.
