LAS VEGAS - Results of final, round 4 eliminations in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 15th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 80 degrees, relative humidity 27 percent, barometer 27.78 inches, adjusted altitude 4,336 feet, track temperature 89 degrees.

Dixon is 36 - 32 against Kalitta in prior events and Dixon is 9 - 4 against Kalitta in prior final rounds. Kalitta with a slight starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. Kalitta was on a great looking pass until the engine let go with a huge fireball around 800 feet, but still got the win. Dixon was up in smoke right at the hit and pedaled it, but was back up in smoke....Kalitta wins his third National event Wally this year and the 38th of his career. Kalitta with the win moves into sixth place in the points chase and Dixon in the losing effort moved into third place in the points.
