This is the first time Snavely and Janis have faced each other in eliminations. It is Snavely's second NHRA event.

Both drivers made good runs, once again Snavely had the better light, but trailed by 60 feet. This time he trailed past half track, then stormed by for the win.

Rick Snavely's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.017), 330 ft(-0.081), 660ft(-0.030), 1,000ft(0.028). MOV: 0.0814 seconds (approximately 29 feet).

Rick Snavely's incremental times: 60ft-1.052 sec., 330ft-2.738, 660ft-3.975/201.34 mph, 1,000ft-5.015.
Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.631, 660ft-3.919/192.49 mph, 1,000ft-5.017.

This was Snavely's first-ever final round, in just his second-ever race, and he has a Wally from Indy to put on the mantle.
