Pro Stock Motorcycle Round 1 Eliminations

POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 49th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals:

12:27 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 26 percent, barometer 29.01 inches, adjusted altitude 2,396 feet, track temperature 92 degrees.

Tonglet is 1-0 against Ray in prior events; this is the first time thay have faced each other in round one.

Ray evened the tally with a great light and his best run of the event.

The ladies have raced each other once before, Sullivan winning in round 2 at Sonoma this year.

Sullivan sawed the tree down and made a solid run, while Smith was busy leaning the bike over to keep it away from the centerline and going in a straight line and unable to catch up.

On a holeshot, Krawiec gets the win light by over a bike length.

Earlier this season, Pollacheck was on the bike Kennedy is now riding. This is Kennedy's third Pro Stock Motorcycle start.

Big starting line advantage to Pollacheck, winning easily with his quickest run of the event.

This is only the second time these two have faced each other, Gann winning their first meeting, at Englishtown this year.

This was a close race and Arana had the better light, but his bike bogged a bit on the launch and Gann led by the time they went 60 feet.

Shawn Gann's incremental margins: 60ft(0.021), 330 ft(0.041), 660ft(0.027), 1,000ft(0.013). MOV: 0.0023 seconds (approximately 8 inches). He won't have lane choice against Ray in round two.

Underdahl moved first, but Arana led by the time they went 60 feet and held that lead the rest of the way.

Hector Arana Jr's incremental margins: 60ft(0.009), 330 ft(0.024), 660ft(0.024), 1,000ft(0.023). MOV: 0.0172 seconds (approximately 5 feet). He will have lane choice against Sullivan in round two.

Hines holds a 15-4 record against Arana, 3-0 in round one, but a lot of those wins came during a period when the Harley-Davidsons were dominant.

Arana led this one all the way, pulling away on the top end for the win. However, he won't have lane choice against Pollacheck in round two.
