Coughlin holds a 5-3 edge against Gray in prior events, 2-0 in round two.

Make that 3-0. Gray shook and lifted, giving Coughlin a free pass to the semifinals.

Anderson has an 8-1 record against Jones, 5-1 in round two.

Double-oh lights in both lanes, but Anderson had the lead at 60 feet and was slowly pulling ahead. Then Jones' engine gave up the ghost, with a big plume of smoke, ending the contest. No oildown, the containment devices did their job.

Line holds a 21-9 edge over Gaines in prior events, but that narrows to 5-2 in round two.

Line had a small holeshot, led to the 660-foot marker. Then Gaines took the lead and stayed there.

V. Gaines' incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.014), 330 ft(-0.008), 660ft(-0.001), 1,000ft(0.007). MOV: 0.0134 seconds (approximately 4 feet).

Gaines will have lane choice against Coughlin in the semifinals.
