BAYTOWN, Texas - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 26th annual O'Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals presented by Super Start Batteries:

Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 47 percent, barometer 29.94 inches, adjusted altitude 1,975 feet, track temperature 110 degrees.

Smith is 2 - 0 against Coughlin in prior events. Smith with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. Smith with his quickest pass of the weekend. coughlin with a wild ride pulling the front end around half track.

Farber is 2 - 1 against Lang in prior events. They leave together with Farber getting the slight edge, but had severe tire shake right at the hit.

Matusek is 1 - 0 against Smith in prior events. Matusek with a starting line advantage, but then had severe tire shake and had to click it off. Smith gets the win light.

Rowe is 1 - 0 against King in prior events. King with the starting line advantage and then a lot of tire shake and clicked it off. rowe clicked it off early but still got the win.

Knowles is 1 - 0 against Satterfield in prior events. Satterfield is out of the gate first, but Knowles has the lead until about 400 feet when he started to lose traction and pedaled it. Satterfield with his quickest pass of the weekend for the win. He will have lane choice over R. Smith in the next round.

This is the first time Juliano and Janis have faced each other in eliminations. both drivers are late on the tree and Janis shakes and gets out of the groove and close to the wall before he clicks it off. Juliano is out of the groove and over by the wall, but stays with it for the win. Juliano will give up lane choice to Lang in the next round.

Cummings with the starting line advantage, but Castellana has the difference made up by the time they go by the Christmas tree. Castellana will have the bye in the next round.
