Simonton in prior events. Dale Brand's #2 starting spot is his best in his brief NHRA TAFC career.
Brand with a slight starting line advantage, but never trailed as Simonton had a lot of tire shake
right off the starting line.

Five of the eight drivers still in contention have never won in the TAFC class. Only Foster,
Manzo and Pomponio have won an NHRA national event.This is the first time Whiteley and Drew have
faced each other in eliminations. They leave together with Drew getting a slight advantage and
never trailed to take the win in a great side-by-side drag race. Ray Drew's MOV: 0.0134 seconds
(approximately 5 feet). Drew will have lane choice over Brand in the semifinal.

Foster is 1 - 0 against Noakes in prior events. This is Chris Foster's first #1 qualifying
spot. He becomes the 85th driver in class history to qualify #1. Foster with the starting line
advantage, but then had problems early in the run and clicked it off.

Pomponio is 1 - 0 against Manzo in prior events. For Frank Manzo, who qualified 12th at the
Gatornationals and 5th here, it is the first time since 2005 that he went more than two races
without being either the number one or two qualifier.This is Dan Pomponio's best starting spot
in his TAFC career. He comes into the race in first place in the points, with one national and two
divisional wins.
Manzo for only the ninth time in his career he goes red and hands Pomponio the
win. Pomponio with the quickest pass of the round and he will have lane choice over Noakes in the
semifinal.
