POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 3 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 48th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals:

Once again, Capps is in a must win situation. He goes into the round without lane choice, as Force ran just 0.007 quicker in round two. Capps is 5 - 1 against Force in prior events.

Capps gets a 0.003 head start at the line and holds off Force until near the 660 lights, where she drove on by. Force makes another strong pass for the close win.

That puts a wrap on the 2102 Funny Car Championship season and Jack Beckman is the winner!

Courtney Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.919 sec., 330ft-2.344, 660ft-3.297/271.30 mph.

Pedregon is 10 - 8 against Beckman in prior events.

Capp's will be kicking himself, as Pedregon gets a lead at the start and pulls steadily ahead for the almost forty foot win. He runs strong and will have lane choice over Force in the final.

Beckman still ran a low four, but it just wasn't good enough for the win.
