Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #2

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 12th annual Big O Tires NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Steve Kalkowski Runs 6.795/203.55, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.774/203.12, Was #16
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.693/206.23, Now #13; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 76 degrees, relative humidity 15 percent, barometer 28.00 inches, adjusted altitude 3,666 feet, track temperature 89 degrees.

WJ with a good pass, but won't get into the show, he will start over tomorrow. WJ's run was DQ'ed for weight in round one. No help here for Kalkowski...

Left Lane: Steve Kent Runs 6.690/206.39, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.734/205.79, Was #16
Right Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.649/207.24, Now #7; No Prior Run

Nobile's round on run was DQ'ed for weight, he makes a real nice pass here to go to the number seven spot. Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.785, 660ft-4.279/164.77 mph, 1,000ft-5.564. Kent made a move in the right direction, but will not get in the show.

Left Lane: JR Carr Runs 6.719/204.79, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.718/197.33, Was #17
Right Lane: Mark Wolfe Runs 6.715/205.10, Now #17; No Prior Run

Left Lane: Shane Gray No Time, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.708/204.35, Was #16
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.621/208.68, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.112/153.63, Was #20

Gray spun real hard right off the starting line and then coasted to stop on the track just before the finish line. Line with a great looking pass to go to the number three spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.771, 660ft-4.261/165.36 mph, 1,000ft-5.542.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.679/205.63, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.674/206.42, Was #12
Right Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 6.702/206.23, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.690/206.67, Was #14

no help here for either driver...

Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.644/208.01, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.661/207.37, Was #10
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.714/204.57, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.685/205.57, Was #13

Enders with the second quickest pass of the round to go to the number seven spot. Erica Enders' incremental times: 60ft-1.002 sec., 330ft-2.789, 660ft-4.277/165.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.560. No help here for Morgan and he will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 7.735/130.40, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.636/197.39, Was #5
Right Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.666/206.51, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.665/206.35, Was #11

Anderson made a quick move toward the centerline and clicked it off. McGaha just a tick off his earlier time from today, and he will stay in the number 11 spot. Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.779, 660ft-4.281/163.91 mph, 1,000ft-5.575.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.643/207.27, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.636/208.04, Was #4
Right Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.679/206.16, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.650/206.45, Was #10

Krisher with a great pass, the second quickest pass of the round, but will stay in the number four spot. Ron Krisher's incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.778, 660ft-4.272/164.77 mph, 1,000ft-5.558. No help for Brogdon and he will stay in the number 10 spot.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.619/207.98, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.615/208.42, Was #2
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.653/206.67, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.647/207.02, Was #8

Edwards launched hard and keep it hooked up with the quickest pass of the round, but will not improve. Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.769, 660ft-4.256/165.56 mph, 1,000ft-5.537. Coughlin with another good pass, but will not improve.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.609/208.65, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.600/208.68, Was #1
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.706/207.69, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.639/208.30, Was #6

Johnson with the quickest pass of the round and just a few ticks off his qualifying time from earlier today. He will hold on to the number one spot. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.767, 660ft-4.251/165.78 mph, 1,000ft-5.530. Gaines with a good pass, but will not improve and will stay in the number six spot.
