HEBRON, Ohio - Results of round 2 eliminations in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 39th annual Pontiac Excitement Nationals presented by Summit Racing:

This first pairing is big in the points chase, Anderson moving out to a four-point lead after qualifying was done. The Safety Safari groomed the top end of the track after the Top Alcohol Dragsters ran, in addition to the usual "Pro Stock Shuffle." Kurt came in with a 4-3 edge over Anderson in prior events, but Anderson evened the tally here. KJ left first, but his car made a small wiggle on the launch and that may have been the difference in the race because it was close all the way and Johnson was closing fast on the top end. Greg Anderson's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.009), 330 ft(0.009), 660ft(0.014), 1,000ft(0.011). MOV: 0.0026 seconds (approximately 9 inches).

Adams slapped a holeshot on Connolly and then ran away from him. Looks like the left lane is no longer a problem...except for the drivers in the right lane!

Krisher came in with a 2-0 edge over Geoffrion during their careers, but Krisher went red for the sixth time this year and Geoffrion made a huge run, low ET of the round to get lane choice in the semifinals against Adams.

Coughlin came in with a 7-2 career record against Allen Johnson. Jeg swapped lanes to take the left side, where he had a major excursion at the finish lane last round, so he had faith in the job the Safety Safari did to fix the problem. AJ had a small holeshot and Jeg was once again all over the lane on the top end after getting out of the groove. Allen Johnson will race Anderson in the semifinals and will pick the lanes.
