This is the first time Hagen and Veney have faced each other in eliminations. A couple second generation drivers here. Hagen's father Fred Sr. defeated Veney's father at the 1989 Division Three race at U.S. 131 Dragway. Hagen with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win light.
