Top Fuel Round 1 Eliminations

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Fuel at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 42nd annual NHRA SuperNationals:

Millican and Kalitta have each won 6 times against the other in prior events. Millican is out of the gate first, but then is up in smoke. Kalitta gets out to about 200 feet and starts to haze the tires. Millican sees Kalitta start to go up in smoke and pedals it, but is back up in smoke. Kalitta is able to drive through his tire haze to get the win.

Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 52 percent, barometer 29.99 inches, adjusted altitude 1,506 feet, track temperature 101 degrees.

Lucas is 4 - 0 against Langdon in prior events. Langdon with the starting line advantage, but then has a quick pedal and that was all Lucas needed to get the win. Lucas with his quickest pass of the weekend for the win.

Brown is 5 - 0 against Grubnic in prior events. Brown is out of the gate first and never trailed to take the win light. Grubnic was on a good pass until right in the light when the engine let go with a big fireball.

Dixon is 3 - 1 against McMillen in prior events. McMillen is up in smoke as soon as he hits the throttle. Dixon is straight down Broadway with the quickest pass of the round. Larry Dixon's incremental times: 60ft-0.832 sec., 330ft-2.139, 660ft-3.049/279.15 mph.

Schumacher is 4 - 0 against Lagana in prior events. Lagana was way too early on tree and turned on the red light. Schumacher started to spin the tires and clicked it off as he saw the red light in the other lane.
