Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Final Session

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 41st annual NHRA Gatornationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.570/211.20, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.661/207.59, Was #23
Right Lane: John Gaydosh Jr Runs 6.755/202.55, Now #24; Best prior run: 6.880/201.91, Was #24

Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 36 percent, barometer 29.43 inches, adjusted altitude 1,604 feet, track temperature 96 degrees.

Gaydosh Jr. will not get in the show. Line launched hard and was straight down the groove to get into the show and the top half of the field. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.760, 660ft-4.233/167.28 mph, 1,000ft-5.502.


Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 14.437/59.20, Now #23; Best prior run: 6.643/209.56, Was #22
Right Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.584/208.84, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.654/206.83, Was #23

Johnson made a quick move toward the centerline and almost got the Christmas tree, but reeled it in before he crossed the centerline. Gray with a good looking pass to get into the show. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.976 sec., 330ft-2.750, 660ft-4.232/166.23 mph, 1,000ft-5.508.

Left Lane: John Nobile Runs 6.611/208.36, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.637/207.91, Was #22
Right Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.624/208.39, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.614/208.81, Was #19

No help here for Enders and she will not qualify. Nobile makes a move in the right direction, but not enough to get into the show.

Left Lane: Bob Benza Runs 6.763/207.56, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.627/207.88, Was #22
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.604/208.81, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.609/209.07, Was #18

Benza shakes right off the starting line and he will not get into the show. Morgan with his quickest pass of the weekend, and ties Humphreys E.T.. He will not get into the show based on his mph being slower than Humphrey. Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.765, 660ft-4.249/165.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.527.

Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.720/208.78, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.608/210.14, Was #18
Right Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.590/209.75, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.596/208.78, Was #14

Johnson with a lot of tire shake and gets out of the groove. Gray with his quickest pass of the weekend, but will stay in the number 14 spot. Johnny Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.764, 660ft-4.244/166.56 mph, 1,000ft-5.518.

Left Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 11.011/119.76, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.604/209.26, Was #16
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.589/209.17, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.583/209.56, Was #11

Humphreys with a lot of tire shake and shuts it off. Gaines with another good pass, but will not improve. V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.760, 660ft-4.240/166.56 mph, 1,000ft-5.515.

Left Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 14.417/59.52, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.601/209.10, Was #15
Right Lane: Steve Spiess Runs 6.616/208.23, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.582/209.23, Was #10

No help here for either driver, Jones pushed in the clutch early.

Left Lane: Ronnie Humphrey Runs 6.572/211.20, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.576/211.26, Was #8
Right Lane: Vinnie Deceglie Runs 6.571/209.36, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.580/209.75, Was #9

This could be a round one match up, and after this run it still looks like it might be a round one match up, but Deceglie will have lane choice. A couple real nice runs...Ronnie Humphrey's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.766, 660ft-4.237/167.53 mph, 1,000ft-5.504.
Vinnie Deceglie's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.745, 660ft-4.222/166.68 mph, 1,000ft-5.496.

Left Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.612/209.75, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.561/210.77, Was #5
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.587/210.24, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.569/211.86, Was #6

Brogdon with a clean pass, but doesn't improve...Anderson with a nice pass, but he won't improve either. Rodger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-1.007 sec., 330ft-2.790, 660ft-4.268/166.52 mph, 1,000ft-5.540.
Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.776, 660ft-4.250/167.26 mph, 1,000ft-5.518.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.540/211.13, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.555/210.44, Was #3
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.554/210.37, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.551/210.90, Was #2

Ron Krisher's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.753, 660ft-4.210/168.09 mph, 1,000ft-5.474.
Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.750, 660ft-4.220/167.49 mph, 1,000ft-5.486.

Left Lane: Bob Yonke Runs 6.590/209.98, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.623/209.79, Was #18
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.573/210.50, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.590/209.75, Was #11

This is a semifinal from the Arizona Nationals and Yonke is quick enough to get into the show and that bumps out Humphreys...Bob Yonke's incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.764, 660ft-4.242/166.89 mph, 1,000ft-5.516.

Stanfield with his quickest pass of the weekend, and he will move up the ladder one spot. Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.761, 660ft-4.234/167.36 mph, 1,000ft-5.504.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 17.110/47.69, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.559/211.16, Was #4
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.544/211.56, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.537/211.53, Was #1

Johnson with problems right off the starting line and he pushes in the clutch. Edwards with another great pass, quickest of the session...He has be the quickest car in every round so far this year...collecting all the top bonus qualifying points. Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.746, 660ft-4.215/167.88 mph, 1,000ft-5.479.
