By Dan Bennett

MADISON, Ill. - Results of round 3 eliminations in Top Fuel at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 12th annual O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals presented by Castrol:

 Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
1 Tony Schumacher 48 Hillary Will

 Qualified: #2 4.495 326.71 #3 4.502 324.59
Hillary does a lane swap after pulling from under the tower.

70 degrees, 19%, and 30.13 Track temp is 109 degrees.

Hillary is looking to improve her semi-final record, which before this run stands at 1-4.

She puts the Army car into the left lane.

It's not to be at big Ken Black watches his car explode into smoke in the first 100 feet. Schumacher, once again, goes right down the lane like it's nothing. That's a very stout pass for the conditions.

Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.851 sec., 330ft-2.162, 660ft-3.095/270.16mph, 1,000ft-3.885

 Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
22 Doug Kalitta 2 Rod Fuller
E3 0.082 6.202 156.46 ****WINNER**** 0.076 4.591 320.51
 Prior rounds:
E2 (A Brown ) 0.073 4.773 283.07 (D Grubnic ) 0.082 4.570 325.45
E1 (D Herbert ) 0.082 4.549 315.64 (C McClenatha) 0.067 4.530 328.06
 Qualified: #5 4.524 312.42 #8 4.541 321.50
This time, it's Kalitta with problems. The car starts hazing the tires going past the 330 clocks and it gets worse from there on.

Fuller takes the big Cat car into the finals for the first time since Vegas last year - which was the only other final he's been in.

Rod Fuller's incremental times: 60ft-0.875 sec., 330ft-2.191, 660ft-3.113/274.61mph, 1,000ft-3.899
