Nitro Funny Car Round 1 Eliminations

EDMONTON, Alb. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Knoll Gas - Torco Racing Fuels Nitro Funny Car at the 2006 eMax Drag Racing Series, CARS RV & Marine & Motorsports Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by TORCO Racing Fuels:

12:31 p.m. Benjamin was a no-show, so King gor a free pass to the semifinals. He launched, shook hard, and lifted, coasting through.

Cooper got about 50 feet before smoking the tires. He pedaled, smoked then again and costed through. Wyatt made a good run, the engine laying down a bit on the top end.

They were side-by-side for about 200 feet, then Haddock lost traction and Creasy streaked away for an easy win. Creasy will have lane choice against Cooper in the semifinals.

Dechene rolled through the water, hit the throttle, and didn't even spin the tires. He stopped short of the starting line and waited for Arcadi. When the light turned green, Duchene idled down the track, conceding the race to Arcadi. Arcadi made a nice run, the only flopper over 300 mph this round. He will have lane choice against Wyatt in the semifinals.
