groove.

171 Larry O'Brien 251 Cary Goforth

Qualified: #14 6.458 215.51 #6 6.423 215.25
Rookie Goforth was still looking for his first career round win and got it with a fine light and a strong run. O'Brien launched
very hard, posting a 0.985 60-foot time, but Goforth led all the way and won going away.

started too soon and Nobile got the win.

42 John Bartunek 7 Pete Berner

Qualified: #12 6.451 217.91 #4 6.420 216.45
Now we start pairing them up for round two. Great drag race, but Berner had a slightly better light and improved over his
qualifying effort. He had the quickest 60-foot time of the round, too, a 0.982 and low ET of the round so far. Pete Berner's
incremental margins: 60ft(0.034), 330 ft(0.042), 660ft(0.043), 1,000ft(0.044). MOV: 0.0431 seconds (approximately 14 feet). He
will have lane choice against Morton in round two.

Both were slow off the line and Patrick was first into the thirties today for the win. He will have lane choice against
Mansfield in the quarterfinals.

4 Rick Jones 759 Jeff Dobbins

Qualified: #10 6.441 216.29 #2 6.402 218.28
Jones launched into severe tire shake and Dobbins had an easy time of it. However, he lost lane choice to Goforth.
Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
6 Tony Gillig 2 Frank Gugliotta
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.065 6.420 216.81 0.104 6.412 218.39
Qualified: #9 6.425 216.55 #1 6.393 218.28
On a holeshot, Gillig pulled off the upset despite making a crooked, out-of-the-groove run all the way down the track. Gillig
posted an astounding set of numbers given the wayward run and will have lane choice against Nobile next round. Tony Gillig's
incremental margins: 60ft(0.049), 330 ft(0.045), 660ft(0.040), 1,000ft(0.035). MOV: 0.0312 seconds (approximately 10
