This is Grubnic's third final round of the year and the 10th of his career. His first win came in May, this year, at Topeka. It is Schumacher's 11th final round of the year, the 55th of his career, with 7 prior wins this year, including the last three in a row. He has won 28 events prior to this one. Schumacher comes in with a record of 19-6 against Grubnic, 3-0 in final rounds. In addition to the winner's $40,000 check, Schumacher is going for a $50,000 double-up bonus, having won the 21st annual Budweiser Shootout yesterday, to make this a $190,000 weekend (not counting the $400,000 year-end points award).

This was never in doubt, Schumacher with a big starting line advantage and the quickest run of the event. That ties the record for consecutive national event wins in Top Fuel, putting his round-win tally at 16 in a row.
