Millican is 4-1 in career match-ups with Herbert.

Millican leaves first, but strikes the tires about 200 feet out. Herbert goes right down the groove and takes the win.

Cullinan had only won two rounds in competition before this race, one in '03 and one in '04, now one in '05. He won't win another one this race, he gets about 300 feet out, strikes the tires, makes a move to the right, then back to the left, crosses the centerline, and falls in behind Kalitta in the left lane. Kalitta goes right down the groove but will give up lane choice to Herbert in round three.

Grubnic makes a decent pass, but this one was Bernstein all the way. The Budweiser dragster goes right down the groove on an almost flawless pass, and makes the quickest pass in eliminations so far.

Schumacher is 8-1 in match-ups with Lucas.

Lucas was off the line first, then he strikes the tires about 300 feet out, pedals once, then gives up on the run. Schumacher goes right down the groove but gives up lane choice to Bernstein in round three.
