Funny Car Round 2 Eliminations

CLERMONT, Ind. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 51st annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals:

1:27 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 38 percent, barometer 29.83 inches, adjusted altitude 1,529 feet, track temperature 118 degrees.

Pedregon was moving around all over the track. He gets out of the groove at half-track, drifts toward the wall, then he has to back off the throttle about 1000 feet out. Scelzi goes right down the groove for the win and takes the points lead for the first time ever in his Funny Car career.

WOW!!! What a great race! Medlen gets off the line first, then Pedregon starts to reel him in. They are dead even at the 330' mark,then are glued together the rest of the way through the run.

Frank Pedregon's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.015), 330 ft(0.000), 660ft(0.002), 1,000ft(0.002). MOV: 0.0012 seconds (approximately 7 inches).

Worsham gets off the line first, starts to pull away, and extends his lead at every incremental. Gilbertson makes a good pass but comes up a little short.

Bazemore gets off the line first, but Burkart even at the 60 foot mark. Bazemore starts to pull away again, and extends his lead the rest of the way through the run.

In round three it will be Worsham with lane choice over Worsham and Scelzi with lane choice over Frank Pedregon.
