Troy Critchley From Outhouse to Penthouse
Sat, 9 Sep 2000, 10:48 AM
After failing to qualify at Norwalk, Troy Critchley and car owner Johnny Rocca
used the 75 pound weight break and a new Kobelco supercharger (nicknamed
"Superman") to take the #1 spot on the first-day qualifying ladder. Jim Lape,
using the same type of supercharger, stunned the Funny Car competitors by running
well under the current ET record and well over the current speed record.
