At last, the true story about announcer Alan Reinhart can finally be
told....Well, it is an interesting story to be sure. This stunning(?) dress
was being offered at the DRAW auction during the Revell Nationals and Jim
Epler stood up and offered $700 if Alan would wear it during pre-race
ceremonies the following day. Alan stood up and said $700 wasn't nearly
enough and he would only do it if someone paid $2000 for the dress. Up
jumped Jerry Toliver with a $2000 bid and the rest is history. We have been
unable to confirm reports that Alan received at least 3 marriage proposals
while wearing the dress.
