Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 16th
annual FRAM-Autolite NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this
round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in
order prior to run:

7:11 PM Current weather conditions: 71 degrees, 53 percent relative humidity,
the barometer 29.99 inches. The head wind has picked up a lot and it's cooler than
earlier today. Should be a great ProStock session. Jeg needs a good pass this time to get
back in the field. He does so with a message. Corvo is right there too and should stay in
the field with that ET.
Left Lane: Taylor Lastor Runs 6.824/202.06, Now #3; Best prior run:
10.430/85.63, Was #25
Right Lane: JR Carr Runs 6.843/200.56, Now #6; Best prior run: 10.618/84.09,
Was #26
Wisnet's 6.888 bump is blasted with both cars to the top of the field. This
looks to be a bump fest.
Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.829/200.98, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.117/197.02,
Was #26
Right Lane: Gordie Rivera Runs 6.869/201.07, Now #17; Best prior run:

Rivera has a career best, but won't make the field this session. Yates is next
to jump way up the ladder.

6.975/200.89, Was #26
Right Lane: Barry Grant Runs 7.309/148.14, Now #24; Best prior run:
6.916/199.94, Was #24
Not everyone will improve in this session. Morgan has a terrible 60 foot time
and Grant gets loose and has to lift.
Left Lane: Ben Watson Runs 6.908/199.46, Now #24; Best prior run:
6.941/199.40, Was #25
Right Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 6.857/200.65, Now #15; Best prior run:
6.900/200.68, Was #23
Both cars improve and Alderman is in the field for now. May not last
long.
Left Lane: George Marnell Runs 6.900/199.88, Now #23; Best prior run:
6.895/200.62, Was #22
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.877/201.13, Now #19; Best prior run:
6.899/201.37, Was #23
No joy for these two. Both cars were moving around a lot and don't
improve.
Left Lane: Mark Whisnant Runs 6.842/201.61, Now #8; Best prior run:
6.888/201.58, Was #22
Right Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 6.817/201.34, Now #2; Best prior run:
6.861/200.59, Was #16
Pawuk need to get off the bump. BANG! Both cars into the top half of the
field. Connolly's 6.855 bump spot looks shaky.
Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.789/202.85, Now #1; Best prior run:
6.885/200.65, Was #22
Right Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.802/202.94, Now #2; Best prior run:
6.855/200.62, Was #16
Another big pair of ET's and a new pair of top qualifyiers.
Left Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 9.397/97.74, Now #22; Best prior run:
6.880/201.61, Was #22
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.830/201.76, Now #8; Best prior run:
6.854/201.64, Was #16
One on the bump and the other not in. Allen has to lift and Stanfield moves up
to the current eight spot.
Left Lane: Terry Adams Runs 6.831/201.94, Now #10; Best prior run:
6.863/202.00, Was #19
Right Lane: Gene Wilson Runs 6.821/202.12, Now #6; Best prior run:
6.853/202.12, Was #16
Same as the last pair, this time both cars get into the field. The two cars
were within a hundredth at three spots down the track.
Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.795/202.45, Now #2; Best prior run:
6.837/201.55, Was #12
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 13.125/63.43, Now #17; Best prior run:
6.852/202.12, Was #17
KJ doesn't get in! He has a 1.006 60th time and can't get past the 330 lights.
Edwards does it again and moves back up the field and into the current #2 spot.
Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.795/202.88, Now #2; Best prior run:
6.835/202.94, Was #12
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.833/200.68, Now #13; Best prior run:
6.845/201.28, Was #16
Both cars makes a better run, but WJ has the best of it and now is the new #2
qualifier.
Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.776/203.55, Now #1; Best prior run:
6.819/203.37, Was #7
Right Lane: Scott Geoffrion Runs 6.818/203.00, Now #8; Best prior run:
6.844/202.12, Was #16
Last pair. These two started the session at the top of the field. Anderson add
another new track record for ET and MPH to his mantle. Geoffrion sneaks into the top of
the field and this will be critical, if the conditions don't improve tomorrow.
