2001 Pontiac Grand Am in Pro Modified

The Harold Martin race team is pumped and excited about the 2001 IHRA Pro Modified Series. The electronic fuel injection wizard says his team will not rest until winter testing demonstrates a proven chassis setup that will optimize his horsepower. The team will spend extensive time during the off-season developing new engine and chassis combinations in an effort to reach new levels of performance. "We have the horsepower to achieve this performance level. It is critical that we test and develop chassis setups for varying weather and track conditions to maintain consistency throughout the race season" states Harold Martin.

"I am excited that we will debut a new 2001 Pontiac Grand Am constructed by Tommy Mauney Race Cars. The racecar will be the first Pro Modified car built with this new body. The team is excited about aerodynamic advantages of the new car and has high expectations for the upcoming race season."

The new car will be sleek and more aerodynamic in design than its predecessor, the Firebird. It will literally be a research and development laboratory on wheels. The ACDelco red white and blue will be prominent in the all-new paint scheme designed for the Grand Am. "We are energized that ACDelco will be our primary sponsor once again for the 2001 race season. My 15-year relationship with ACDelco has grown from designing & development to include promotion and marketing. The synergistic dynamics of our partnership makes this possible," says Harold Martin.

Harold, formerly a General Motors development engineer, has embraced technology like few other racers. Martin is an ambassador of speed, pushing the envelope of technology to etch his name in the record books. His contributions to the automotive industry are so innovative and revolutionary that they have resulted in 10 world patents. Each of the patents yielded products that are sold worldwide. Harold's accomplishments continue to be noted in numerous magazines and by the media.

Martin's ongoing innovations in EFI have been the basis to challenge himself to achieve higher levels with his progressive ideas. His 697 cubic-inch ACDelco Pontiac Grand Am employs an electronic fuel injection system (EFI) designed by Martin himself. The Martin race engines and engine management systems have also become popular with many categories of racers including Pro Modified, Pro Stock, Super Eliminator, Top Sportsman, Pro Street, Super Street, Super Stock, and Stock. According to Harold, "We are proud of the growing interest in our engines and EFI systems, and the resulting world championships, records and victories achieved using these high technology systems." Additionally, Martin Motorsports is proud of Pro Street "World Champion" Dan Scott and Nostalgia Pro Street "World Champion" John Cervantes who compete with Martin Motorsports engines. Champions are built to win by Martin Motorsports.

The company has expanded to include engineering and development of engine programs for OEM companies to professional race teams. GM Performance Parts, a prominent customer of Martin Motorsports, released a new high technology EFI engine crate program, designed and developed in conjunction with Martin Motorsports. Additionally, the company has been assigned full Powertrain responsibility for the new Shelby Series One Luxury Sports car.

With Harold's expertise and enthusiasm and the continued support of ACDelco, the 2001 race season is expected to be both exciting and record breaking for the Harold Martin Race Team. The innovative style of the Martin Motorsports Team will set the stage this season for their future growth and expansion.

With a combination of experience, education, innovation and enthusiasm, Harold Martin is destined to realize a prominent place in automotive and motorsports history.
