TOPEKA, Kan. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the 11th annual Advance Auto Parts Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Ray Franks Runs 7.058/196.19, Now #27; Best prior run: 7.057/194.44, Was #27
Right Lane: John Nobile Runs 6.935/198.17, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.990/196.47, Was #15

If they can negotiate this cold track we could see some unbelievable runs during this session.

Left Lane: Steve Schmidt Runs 6.926/198.47, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.966/196.22, Was #11
Right Lane: Lewis Worden Runs 6.972/197.05, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.050/195.19, Was #26

And ladies and gentlemen, we now have an all six-second field at Topeka.

WJ with a 1.000 60-foot time to reset both ends of the track records with the first 200 mph run here.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 8.630/99.38, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.922/197.39, Was #3
Right Lane: Brad Klein Runs 9.818/87.20, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.010/195.76, Was #22

Johnson makes a move toward the wall as soon as he lets the clutch out and then finally lifts. Klein clicks it off early, too.

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.893/200.02, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.935/197.39, Was #7
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 8.010/125.81, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.935/197.05, Was #8

Edwards gets loose at the gear shifts and finally clicks it off. Coughlin with a great looking pass and the second 200 mph-pass here at Topeka.

Left Lane: Tom Martino Runs 6.935/199.46, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.974/197.16, Was #14
Right Lane: George Marnell Runs 6.930/198.09, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.977/196.96, Was #16

Now to get in the top half of the field you have to run quicker than Martino's 6.935.

Left Lane: Mike Thomas Runs 7.848/128.35, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.946/196.24, Was #13
Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.926/198.67, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.942/197.42, Was #11

Thomas drifting around out in the middle of the track and clicks it off. Yates jumps into the top half of the field.

Left Lane: Randy Jones Runs 7.049/195.25, Now #28; Best prior run: 11.052/80.96, Was #33
Right Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 6.894/199.14, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.016/195.39, Was #24

Pawuk goes from the outside of the show up to the number three spot with a great looking pass.

Left Lane: Jamie Yates Runs 7.033/195.70, Now #27; Best prior run: 7.039/194.55, Was #27
Right Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.888/198.44, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.949/197.08, Was #15

Yates needs to run quicker than Worden's bump of 6.972. Yates with no help here. Richie steals the number one spot with a picture perfect pass.

Left Lane: Tony Gillig Runs 6.955/198.15, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.015/195.87, Was #24
Right Lane: Larry Nance No Time, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.006/196.59, Was #22

Nance breaks in the burnout box.

Left Lane: Michael Holton Runs 7.236/192.11, Now #32; Best prior run: 9.529/92.84, Was #33
Right Lane: Arturo Delgado Runs 6.995/197.05, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.006/196.73, Was #22

Left Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 6.912/199.02, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.974/196.13, Was #18
Right Lane: Gary Wiggins Runs 11.321/78.02, Now #30; Best prior run: 7.133/191.89, Was #30

Allen gets back into the show and bumps Gillig back out for now. The bump is Thomas with a 6.946.

Left Lane: Mike Trumble Runs 6.977/198.03, Now #19; Best prior run: 8.313/119.18, Was #33
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.912/199.17, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.911/198.52, Was #5

Trumble finally gets down the track, but not quick enough.

Left Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 6.993/196.79, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.022/194.60, Was #26
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.980/197.91, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.000/196.56, Was #23

No help here for either one of the competitors.

Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 7.033/196.62, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.985/196.22, Was #22

That wraps up round three of Pro Stock. Richie Stevens with a great pass and the number one spot, right behind him is Warren Johnson who ran the first 200 mph-run here. The bump??... Mike Thomas with a 6.946.
