ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 41st annual Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Blaine Hale No Time, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.624/176.88, Was #16
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.816/197.49, Now #10; Best prior run: 8.856/99.02, Was #18

There was a timing problem and Hale did not receive a time.

Hall makes his quickest pass of the weekend to get in the show.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.973/197.19, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.969/192.20, Was #17
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 64.999/0.00, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.745/192.97, Was #18

Arana goes down the groove with a decent pass but he doesn't improve.

Arana Jr. leaves the line, the bike gets about 100 feet out and goes silent, not sure why.

Left Lane: Malcolm Phillips Jr. Runs 16.285/45.62, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.867/194.12, Was #14
Right Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 6.892/196.83, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.956/196.79, Was #16

Phillips gets about 100 feet out and he sits up on the bike, not sure why. Tonglet goes down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend and he moves up a spot in the order.

Left Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 6.803/198.46, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.828/194.92, Was #12
Right Lane: Chris Bostick Runs 10.101/81.17, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.944/192.75, Was #16

Ingwersen goes down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend and he moves up a spot to 12th. Bostick was out of power early in the run.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.991/115.30, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.750/199.17, Was #8
Right Lane: Geno Scali Runs 6.789/200.60, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.830/200.18, Was #12

Johnson has problems late in the run and is off of the throttle early. Scali makes his quickest pass of the weekend and he moves up to the tenth spot.

Left Lane: Chase Van Sant Runs 6.752/201.55, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.718/201.58, Was #6
Right Lane: Clayton Howey Runs 6.772/198.90, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.753/199.21, Was #9

Van Sant makes a decent run but doesn't improve. Howey doesn't improve.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.708/203.10, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.689/201.53, Was #4
Right Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 7.809/120.34, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.737/200.20, Was #7

Smith makes a clean, straight pass but doesn't improve. Oehler has problems around half track and is off of the throttle early.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.659/204.18, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.673/204.61, Was #3
Right Lane: Richard Gadson Runs 7.446/127.09, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.692/202.07, Was #5

Smith goes down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend but he stays in the third spot. Gadson drifted toward the wall, gets about 1000 feet out and backs off of the throttle.

Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.061 sec., 330ft-2.802, 660ft-4.274/166.65 mph, 1,000ft-5.560.

Left Lane: Gaige Herrera Runs 6.651/203.05, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.651/203.05, Was #1
Right Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 6.756/200.69, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.653/202.89, Was #2

Herrera goes down the groove with the quickest pass of the weekend and he takes the top spot. Gladstone slows from his previous attempt and drops a spot.

Gaige Herrera's incremental times: 60ft-1.019 sec., 330ft-2.767, 660ft-4.246/165.50 mph, 1,000ft-5.542.
