READING - Pro Stock Bike Qualifying Notes, Session #2

MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Bike at the 17th annual Pep Boys NHRA Nationals presented by Greased Lightning listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.387/175.14, Now #9; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Chris Reuter Runs 7.456/181.50, Now #15; Best prior run: 8.546/108.00, Was #24

2:13 PM Johnson did not get a time in round one of qualifying so he gets to go in the first pair of round two. Temperatures are in the 80s and there is bright sunlight. The bump time at the start of round two is 7.483.

Left Lane: Bruce Dickson Runs 8.177/158.80, Now #26; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Don DeTurck Runs 7.861/168.07, Now #25; Best prior run: 7.898/165.62, Was #25

Dixon took out the 330-foot reflector the first time out. This time out, Dixon went left toward the wall and had to work hard to keep from hitting it. DeTurck smoked his engine at 1,000 feet.

Left Lane: Matt Hines Runs 7.278/182.48, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.691/142.57, Was #23
Right Lane: Reggie Cole Runs 7.512/180.96, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.758/172.08, Was #24

Left Lane: Dennis Mirante Runs 7.645/171.82, Now #24; Best prior run: 7.617/176.97, Was #23
Right Lane: Neil Jacobs Runs 7.519/179.64, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.672/142.12, Was #24

Weather permitting, Mirante and Jacobs will get two more chances to qualify tomorrow.

Left Lane: Connie Cohen Runs 7.523/172.52, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.530/167.59, Was #23
Right Lane: Geno Scali Runs 7.346/185.61, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.524/144.41, Was #22

Cohen fought her way down the track and will have to wait until tomorrow to try again to make the field.

Left Lane: Bill Vose Runs 7.366/176.40, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.473/179.56, Was #19
Right Lane: Ron Ayers Runs 7.425/180.74, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.483/176.01, Was #20

Left Lane: Brian DeLong Runs 7.526/176.24, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.452/181.79, Was #18
Right Lane: Thomas Miceli Runs 7.361/184.07, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.465/176.35, Was #20

DeLong is still on the outside after this run.

Left Lane: Sam Hurwitz Runs 7.437/182.43, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.391/186.30, Was #16
Right Lane: Rob Short Runs 7.450/186.15, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.401/180.62, Was #17

Hurwitz came into this round sitting on the bubble. After this round, he is still sitting there and Short is still just outside the field looking in.

Right Lane: Greg Underdahl Runs 7.379/186.15, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.369/181.45, Was #12

Neither rider ran quicker than their round one times and neither changed places in the qualifying order.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.321/182.38, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.384/187.76, Was #14
Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.301/186.46, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.315/186.38, Was #7

Berry came into the round in the 14th qualifying position and moved into eighth with this run.

Left Lane: Reggie Showers Runs 7.290/182.75, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.324/188.60, Was #9
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.355/180.52, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.310/181.06, Was #7

Showers had a nice run to better his round one time of 7.324 seconds.

Left Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 7.285/181.57, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.265/188.75, Was #4
Right Lane: Shawn Gann No Time, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.260/184.35, Was #3

Gann broke during his burnout and left oil from the water box to the starting line. He did not make a run. Tonglet did not improve his round one time.

Left Lane: Angelle Savoie Runs 7.208/181.76, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.244/188.36, Was #1
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 7.445/170.54, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.251/180.14, Was #2

Savoie and Brown entered this round one and two. Savoie bettered her round one time by 36 thousandths of second.
