Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Final Session

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Notes from final, round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 51st annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Alan Prusiensky No Time, Now #21; No Prior Run

Prusiensky with problems, can't get the car to stay running and is pushed off the starting line.

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Jr. Runs 6.660/207.53, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.776/129.53, Was #19
Right Lane: Fernando Cuadra Runs 19.351/31.71, Now #20; Best prior run: 20.052/38.62, Was #20

Coughlin is straight down the groove to get in the show. Troy Coughlin Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-1.005 sec., 330ft-2.798, 660ft-4.289/165.11 mph, 1,000ft-5.576.

Cuadra with severe tire shake and pushed in the clutch.

Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.703/206.26, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.750/205.07, Was #18
Right Lane: Cristian Cuadra Runs 6.654/207.98, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.832/205.32, Was #19

Stevens make a quick move toward the wall, he reeled it in, but he will not get in the show.

Cuadra kept it hooked up and straight down the groove to get in the show. Cristian Cuadra's incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.796, 660ft-4.286/165.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.570.

Left Lane: Wally Stroupe Runs 6.678/206.57, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.680/200.77, Was #17
Right Lane: Val Smeland Runs 6.674/207.40, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.691/206.07, Was #18

Stroupe improves on his pass from earlier today, but till not get in the show.

Smeland with trouble after he pulls through the water, the crew has the nose of the car off. They get it fixed and he does a short burnout. Smeland is straight down the groove, but he will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Aaron Stanfield Runs 6.623/208.55, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.669/207.56, Was #16
Right Lane: Bob Benza Runs 6.662/208.42, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.667/207.37, Was #15

Stanfield launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number four spot. Aaron Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.791, 660ft-4.261/165.84 mph, 1,000ft-5.542.

Benza improve on his pass from earlier today, but will stay on the bubble.

Left Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.631/207.85, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.659/207.27, Was #14
Right Lane: Kyle Koretsky Runs 6.661/207.59, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.642/207.37, Was #11

McGaha kept it hooked up and straight down the groove to move into the top half of the show. Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.780, 660ft-4.265/165.33 mph, 1,000ft-5.548.

Koretsky was loose right at the hit, he stays with it, but will not improve.

Left Lane: Kenny Delco Runs 6.648/208.49, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.650/208.33, Was #13
Right Lane: Bo Butner Runs 6.670/206.61, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.640/206.10, Was #11

Delco is a couple ticks quicker than earlier today, but will stay in the number 13 spot.

Butner clicks it off early.

Left Lane: Mason McGaha Runs 6.645/206.76, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.637/207.88, Was #9
Right Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.608/207.08, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.637/207.85, Was #10

McGaha with a good pass, but will not improve.

Hartford launched hard and kept it hooked up to tie Enders with quickest pass of the event, He will give up the position based on his slower mph. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.763, 660ft-4.246/165.86 mph, 1,000ft-5.527.

Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.629/207.34, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.632/207.85, Was #9
Right Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 6.615/208.42, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.623/207.62, Was #6

Anderson is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the day. He moves into the top half of the show and he will face Chris McGaha in round one tomorrow.

Laughlin kept it hooked up to go to the number three spot. Alex Laughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.765, 660ft-4.250/165.62 mph, 1,000ft-5.533.

Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.912/161.98, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.624/207.34, Was #7
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.635/207.50, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.620/206.86, Was #5

Line with problems and pushed in the clutch early.

Coughlin with another good pass, but he will not improve and will start from the number five spot.

Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.621/208.42, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.608/208.65, Was #1
Right Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 6.602/208.78, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.618/208.55, Was #4

Enders with another good pass, but will not improve.

Kramer launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. He makes the quickest and fastest pass of the day to go to the number one spot. he qualifies number one for the fifth time in his career.
