Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Final Session

BROWNSBURG, Ind. - Notes from final, round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Inaugural Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Doug Winters Runs 8.103/112.98, Now #16; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Justin Jones Runs 5.948/226.92, Now #13; Best prior run: 22.340/32.81, Was #19

Winters shook and clicked it off.

Jones makes a full pull to get in the show for now. Justin Jones' incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.654, 660ft-3.921/195.93 mph, 1,000ft-4.997.

Left Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 6.019/243.50, Now #16; Best prior run: 9.868/90.05, Was #19
Right Lane: Mike Janis Runs 5.882/247.66, Now #11; Best prior run: 10.264/74.66, Was #20

Tutterow started to lose traction, but pedaled it to get in the show on the bubble. Todd Tutterow's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.664, 660ft-3.988/189.50 mph, 1,000ft-5.094.

Janis was straight down the groove to get in the show. Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-1.016 sec., 330ft-2.650, 660ft-3.907/197.48 mph, 1,000ft-4.977. Janis left rear quarter panel came apart, not sure why.

Left Lane: Jonathan Gray Runs 5.838/250.13, Now #9; Best prior run: 9.046/97.55, Was #20
Right Lane: Jeffery Barker Runs 5.828/249.67, Now #8; Best prior run: 8.209/114.26, Was #19

this was a good side-by-side drag race. They both go from outside the program into the show.

Jonathan Gray's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.630, 660ft-3.880/198.79 mph, 1,000ft-4.941.
Jeffery Barker's incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.611, 660ft-3.864/198.23 mph, 1,000ft-4.928.

Left Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 5.914/204.08, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.403/161.81, Was #19
Right Lane: Jim Whiteley No Time, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.855/241.71, Was #12

Satterfield is straight down the groove to get in the show. He is in at the number 15 spot. Clint Satterfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.970 sec., 330ft-2.538, 660ft-3.794/196.59 mph, 1,000ft-4.879.

Whiteley with problems after the burnout and he is shut off.

Right Lane: Kris Thorne Runs 5.851/255.82, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.855/256.60, Was #11

King is straight down the groove to get in the show. He is in on the bubble. Chip King's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.627, 660ft-3.907/193.49 mph, 1,000ft-4.997.

thorne improve, but not enough to move up on the ladder. Kris Thorne's incremental times: 60ft-1.003 sec., 330ft-2.676, 660ft-3.915/199.76 mph, 1,000ft-4.968.

Left Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 6.001/240.68, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.931/195.05, Was #17
Right Lane: Bo Butner Runs 9.387/98.11, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.848/247.66, Was #10

Snider just got bumped out...Snider can't get back into the show.

Butner shook and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 10.496/83.24, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.909/244.34, Was #14
Right Lane: Brandon Pesz Runs 9.012/102.42, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.826/247.93, Was #7

Castellana shook and clicked it off.

Pesz also shook and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Chad Green Runs 5.806/251.06, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.795/250.51, Was #5
Right Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 9.843/92.05, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.799/253.80, Was #6

Green launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the quickest pass of the session. He will not improve and stays in the number five spot. Chad Green's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.616, 660ft-3.860/199.61 mph, 1,000ft-4.914.

Matusek got loose and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Steve Jackson Runs 6.666/147.54, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.788/247.47, Was #3
Right Lane: Jeff Jones Runs 13.407/83.61, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.794/249.81, Was #4

Jackson started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Jones with severe tire shake at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 5.761/251.72, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.729/251.67, Was #1
Right Lane: Jason Scruggs Runs 5.811/249.81, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.749/251.86, Was #2

alBalooshi launched hard and kept it hooked up and was straight down the groove with the quickest pass of the session. He qualifies number one for the eighth time in his career and the second time this year. Khalid alBalooshi's incremental times: 60ft-0.967 sec., 330ft-2.555, 660ft-3.804/198.03 mph, 1,000ft-4.867.

Scruggs with another great pass, the third quickest of the session. He will start Sunday from the number two spot. Jason Scruggs' incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.576, 660ft-3.836/197.08 mph, 1,000ft-4.909.
