Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Final Session

POMONA, Calif. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 60th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Martin Robertson Runs 6.793/205.82, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.719/207.50, Was #20
Right Lane: Fernando Cuadra Runs 6.744/206.70, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.695/208.04, Was #19

Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 37 percent, barometer 28.78 inches, adjusted altitude 2,775 feet, track temperature 99 degrees.

Robertson with a clean pass, but he will not get in the show.

Cuadra slows from his quickest pass of weekend and he will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Alan Prusiensky Runs 19.782/42.35, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.684/206.57, Was #17
Right Lane: Tom Huggins Runs 7.327/145.39, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.691/207.40, Was #18

Prusiensky with severe tire shake right at the hit and pushed in the clutch.

Huggins with a lot engine smoke on the top end as he slows and he won't get in the show.

Left Lane: Val Smeland Runs 6.610/208.75, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.647/208.46, Was #16
Right Lane: Joey Grose Runs 12.908/68.11, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.640/205.79, Was #15

Smeland is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to get off the bump spot. Val Smeland's incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.753, 660ft-4.243/165.54 mph, 1,000ft-5.529.

Grose makes a quick move toward the centerline right at the hit and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Cristian Cuadra Runs 6.629/208.78, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.611/209.39, Was #14
Right Lane: Fernando Cuadra Jr. No Time, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.636/207.62, Was #15

Cuadra is straight down the groove with a clean pass. He will not improve and will start from the number 14 spot.

Cuadra Jr.'s car broke on the burnout and was pushed off the starting line. He will start from the number 15 spot.

Left Lane: Steve Graham Runs 29.649/32.60, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.598/209.52, Was #11
Right Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.574/209.07, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.605/210.11, Was #12

Graham didn't move off the starting line and then drove it down the track.

Hartford launched hard and kept it hooked up to make his quickest pass of the weekend and the quickest pass of the session. He moves up the ladder one spot. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-0.992 sec., 330ft-2.755, 660ft-4.230/166.64 mph, 1,000ft-5.502.

Right Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.598/210.08, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.565/210.80, Was #9

Laughlin with a clean pass, but will not improve. Alex Laughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.750, 660ft-4.230/166.01 mph, 1,000ft-5.510.

McGaha launched hard, but made a move toward the centerline and he reeled it in. He will not improve. Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.762, 660ft-4.247/166.09 mph, 1,000ft-5.524.

Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.558/208.59, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.564/210.67, Was #8
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.564/208.81, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.562/210.80, Was #7

This was a good sid-by-side drag race.

Line launched hard and kept it hooked up, he makes his quickest pass of the weekend. He makes the quickest pass of the session and moves up one spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.966 sec., 330ft-2.733, 660ft-4.210/166.85 mph, 1,000ft-5.484.

Anderson with the second quickest pass of the session and just a couple ticks off his qualifying speed. He gets bumped back one spot by his teammate. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.969 sec., 330ft-2.733, 660ft-4.212/166.39 mph, 1,000ft-5.489.

Left Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 6.549/210.08, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.555/210.41, Was #6
Right Lane: Aaron Stanfield Runs 6.568/209.82, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.554/210.01, Was #5

Kramer was straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number two spot. He now has the quickest pass of the session. Deric Kramer's incremental times: 60ft-0.972 sec., 330ft-2.734, 660ft-4.208/167.12 mph, 1,000ft-5.478.

Stanfield with the fourth quickest pass of the session and he gets bumped back one spot by Kramer. Aaron Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.974 sec., 330ft-2.741, 660ft-4.220/166.50 mph, 1,000ft-5.495.

Left Lane: Kenny Delco Runs 6.568/210.44, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.553/210.60, Was #4
Right Lane: Bo Butner Runs 6.562/209.49, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.553/210.18, Was #5

Delco with a lot of smoke right at the hit, but still has a good looking pass. He will not improve, but runs the fifth quickest pass of the session. Kenny Delco's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.746, 660ft-4.223/167.05 mph, 1,000ft-5.495.

Butner with another good pass, he will not improve, but has the third quickest pass of the round. Bo Butner's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.739, 660ft-4.216/166.31 mph, 1,000ft-5.489.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.525/210.64, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.530/210.73, Was #1
Right Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.578/210.77, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.552/210.80, Was #3

Coughlin launched hard and kept it hooked to make the quickest pass of the event. He will start from the number one spot for the 33rd time in his career. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.961 sec., 330ft-2.712, 660ft-4.183/167.95 mph, 1,000ft-5.454.

Enders made a quick move toward the centerline and she reeled it in to make a good pass. She will start from the number three spot. Erica Enders' incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.756, 660ft-4.236/166.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.508.
