Top Fuel Qualifying Notes, Final Session

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 34th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Kebin Kinsley Runs 6.282/107.39, Now #15; Best prior run: 3.813/273.22, Was #15

Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 36 percent, barometer 29.11 inches, adjusted altitude 3,381 feet, track temperature 112 degrees.

Kinsley is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off. He will start Sunday from the number 15 spot.

Left Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 3.769/325.61, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.748/326.71, Was #12
Right Lane: Lee Callaway Runs 4.679/164.39, Now #14; Best prior run: 3.808/312.28, Was #14

McMillen is straight down the groove, he will not improve and is in the number 12 spot. Terry McMillen's incremental times: 60ft-0.854 sec., 330ft-2.141, 660ft-3.028/286.74 mph.

Callaway was mixing up cylinders right at the hit and then started smoke the tires before he clicked it off.

Left Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.714/328.38, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.739/328.54, Was #11
Right Lane: Shawn Reed Runs 3.762/323.12, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.766/322.88, Was #13

Prock launched hard and kept it hooked up to move into the top half of the show. Austin Prock's incremental times: 60ft-0.831 sec., 330ft-2.111, 660ft-2.982/291.76 mph.

Reed is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend. He will stay in the number 13 spot. Shawn Reed's incremental times: 60ft-0.830 sec., 330ft-2.129, 660ft-3.018/286.32 mph.

Left Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.743/328.54, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.717/327.82, Was #8
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 5.992/104.36, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.725/328.30, Was #11

Brown with another good looking pass, but will not improve. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.140, 660ft-3.010/291.89 mph.

Millican drives into tire smoke and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Jordan Vandergriff Runs 3.766/318.69, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.713/324.59, Was #6
Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 5.024/138.84, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.724/330.63, Was #10

Vandergriff with another good looking pass, straight down the groove. He will not improve and stays in the number six spot. Jordan Vandergriff's incremental times: 60ft-0.838 sec., 330ft-2.125, 660ft-3.014/284.87 mph.

Kalitta starts to haze the tires early and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.723/324.98, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.689/329.18, Was #4
Right Lane: Richie Crampton Runs 4.641/165.60, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.720/325.69, Was #9

Torrence kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make the second quickest pass of the round. He will stay in the number four spot...Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.829 sec., 330ft-2.110, 660ft-2.984/290.07 mph.

Crampton started to lose traction early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Mike Salinas Runs 3.713/330.07, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.681/331.12, Was #3
Right Lane: Billy Torrence Runs 3.752/328.22, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.712/330.47, Was #5

This is a great side-by-side drag race.

Salinas had the candles lit all the way down the track and hooked up to make the quickest pass of the session. Mike Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.831 sec., 330ft-2.114, 660ft-2.984/292.90 mph.

Torrence with another great pass, the fifth quickest of the session. Billy Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.832 sec., 330ft-2.142, 660ft-3.018/290.76 mph.

Left Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.691/314.02, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.651/331.28, Was #1
Right Lane: Leah Pritchett Runs 3.814/316.90, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.681/332.10, Was #2

Force launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make the quickest pass of the session. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.820 sec., 330ft-2.093, 660ft-2.957/294.18 mph. She holds on to the number one spot for the eighth time this season and the 18th time in her career.

Pritchett was on a good pass until right in the lights when the engine let go with a quick fireball. She will start from the number two spot.
