Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Final Session

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 34th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.712/206.80, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.648/209.14, Was #16

Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 36 percent, barometer 29.11 inches, adjusted altitude 3,381 feet, track temperature 112 degrees.

Stevens cars dies twice before he does the burnout. He gets it fired up and backs up and gets the tires wet again. He does the burnout with not further problems. He is straight down the groove, but he will not get off the bump.

Left Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 6.627/208.39, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.616/209.23, Was #15
Right Lane: Cristian Cuadra Runs 6.675/207.91, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.652/208.46, Was #17

Laughlin is straight down the groove, but will not improve. He will start from the number 15 spot. this is his lowest qualifying position all year.

Cuadra with a clean pass, but he will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Fernando Cuadra Jr. Runs 6.637/208.52, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.591/209.07, Was #12
Right Lane: Val Smeland Runs 6.643/207.72, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.611/208.81, Was #14

Cuadra Jr. with a clean pass, but will not improve.

Smeland was straight down the groove, but will not improve.

Left Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.588/209.62, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.577/210.57, Was #11
Right Lane: Shane Tucker Runs 6.701/186.30, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.609/209.39, Was #13

McGaha is straight down the groove with a nice pass. He makes the quickest pass of the session. Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.757, 660ft-4.234/166.74 mph, 1,000ft-5.513.

Tucker made a quick move toward the centerline and reels it in.

Left Lane: Aaron Stanfield Runs 6.585/209.52, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.556/210.14, Was #8
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.597/209.04, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.568/209.10, Was #10

Stanfield kept it hooked up to make the quickest pass of the session, he will not improve. Aaron Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.747, 660ft-4.229/166.11 mph, 1,000ft-5.510.

Anderson is straight down the groove.

Delco with a clean pass...

Hartford is straight down the groove with the quickest pass of the session. He will start Sunday from the number five spot. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.745, 660ft-4.226/165.80 mph, 1,000ft-5.507.

Line with a clean pass.

Left Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 6.571/209.65, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.533/210.28, Was #3
Right Lane: Bo Butner Runs 6.640/209.07, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.535/210.57, Was #4

Kramer kept it hooked up all the way down the track to make the quickest pass of the session. Deric Kramer's incremental times: 60ft-0.973 sec., 330ft-2.738, 660ft-4.215/166.35 mph, 1,000ft-5.495.

Butner with a good pass.

Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.577/210.50, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.510/211.53, Was #2
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.550/210.31, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.509/210.41, Was #1

Enders is straight down the groove with the third quickest pass of the session. She will start from the number two spot on Sunday. Erica Enders' incremental times: 60ft-0.981 sec., 330ft-2.744, 660ft-4.223/166.54 mph, 1,000ft-5.502.

Coughlin launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the quickest pass of the session. He holds on for the number one qualifying spot for the second time this season and 31st time in his career. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.966 sec., 330ft-2.727, 660ft-4.200/167.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.477.
