BRAINERD, Minn. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 38th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 4.031/315.49, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.077/108.98, Was #17

Weather conditions: air temperature 86 degrees, relative humidity 45 percent, barometer 28.41 inches, adjusted altitude 4,239 feet, track temperature 108 degrees.

Pedregon launched hard and kept it hooked up to get in the show with his quickest pass of the weekend. Cruz Pedregon's incremental times: 60ft-0.891 sec., 330ft-2.283, 660ft-3.254/265.74 mph.

Left Lane: Dale Creasy Jr. Runs 4.429/244.07, Now #16; Best prior run: 4.256/237.55, Was #16
Right Lane: Jim Campbell Runs 4.810/172.36, Now #17; Best prior run: 4.304/231.20, Was #17

Creasy Jr. started to lose traction and pedaled it. He will not improve, but will hold on to the number 16 spot.

Campbell starts to lose traction and clicks it off. He will not qualify.

Right Lane: Bob Bode Runs 4.045/310.70, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.038/311.05, Was #13

Bode is straight down the groove with a good clean pass. Bob Bode's incremental times: 60ft-0.896 sec., 330ft-2.302, 660ft-3.266/268.17 mph.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.963/321.27, Now #9; Best prior run: 4.067/311.63, Was #14
Right Lane: Paul Lee Runs 4.232/241.02, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.969/318.69, Was #10

Todd kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number nine spot. J.R. Todd's incremental times: 60ft-0.880 sec., 330ft-2.261, 660ft-3.206/275.34 mph.

Lee started to lose traction on the top end and clicked it off early.

Left Lane: Tim Wilkerson Runs 3.993/312.78, Now #12; Best prior run: 4.030/300.93, Was #12
Right Lane: Tommy Johnson Jr. Runs 3.926/318.54, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.956/320.43, Was #7

Wilkerson is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend. He will stay in the number 12 spot. Tim Wilkerson's incremental times: 60ft-0.885 sec., 330ft-2.289, 660ft-3.226/274.66 mph.

Johnson Jr. launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number four spot with his quickest pass of the weekend. Tommy Johnson Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.868 sec., 330ft-2.240, 660ft-3.170/276.52 mph.

Left Lane: John Force Runs 3.923/321.12, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.963/319.37, Was #10
Right Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.970/290.57, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.935/318.02, Was #5

Force kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number three spot. John Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.880 sec., 330ft-2.248, 660ft-3.172/281.30 mph.

Langdon with another good pass, but he will not improve. Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.876 sec., 330ft-2.256, 660ft-3.188/277.20 mph.

Left Lane: Jonnie Lindberg Runs 3.996/312.71, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.963/322.65, Was #9
Right Lane: Robert Hight Runs 3.945/324.05, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.924/326.48, Was #4

Lindberg with a good looking pass until right in the lights when it used up an engine. He will not improve. Jonnie Lindberg's incremental times: 60ft-0.882 sec., 330ft-2.281, 660ft-3.229/274.50 mph. The word from the top end is there is oil. Jonnie Lindberg was charged with an oildown, #2 for the season. That will cost 10 points.

Hight kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make the third quickest pass of the session. He will not improve...Robert Hight's incremental times: 60ft-0.883 sec., 330ft-2.269, 660ft-3.197/277.89 mph.

Left Lane: Bob Tasca III Runs 3.957/323.43, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.950/322.96, Was #8
Right Lane: Jack Beckman Runs 3.939/322.27, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.908/325.53, Was #2

Tasca is straight down the groove, he makes his quickest pass by a tick, but will stay in the number eight spot. Bob Tasca III's incremental times: 60ft-0.884 sec., 330ft-2.273, 660ft-3.206/279.90 mph.

Beckman with another good looking pass, but he will not improve. Jack Beckman's incremental times: 60ft-0.876 sec., 330ft-2.254, 660ft-3.189/278.29 mph.

Left Lane: Ron Capps Runs 3.936/325.53, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.936/321.04, Was #7
Right Lane: Matt Hagan Runs 4.661/174.93, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.890/328.46, Was #1

Capps matches his qualifying time and will start Sunday from the number seven spot. Ron Capps' incremental times: 60ft-0.875 sec., 330ft-2.253, 660ft-3.187/279.96 mph.

Hagan started to haze the tires and clicked it off. He will hold on to the number one spot for the 35th time in his career, the first time this season and the third time in Brainerd.
