John DeFlorian Jr. celebrates win.
BAYTOWN, Texas -- The Mountain Motor Pro Stock will be running four exhibition races this
year at NHRA events that the 500 cubic inch Pro Stocker are not attending. John DeFlorian
qualified number one with a 6.255 second pass at 224.40 mph. He defeated Rick Cowger in round one
and Dillon Voss in the semifinal to advance to the final to face JR Carr. Carr won round one over
Christopher Powers, running low E.T. and top speed of the event. He defeated Scott Benham in the
semifinal with another great pass to get lane choice in the final. Carr was too quick on the tree
and turned on the red light to give DeFlorian the win, who had tire shake right at the hit and
clicked it off.
The Mountain Motor Pro Stock will be at the NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX
Dragway near Charlotte, N.C. April 26-28.
