GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 50th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Marc Caruso Runs 5.867/221.27, Now #6; No Prior Run

Caruso with a good looking pass, and it appears he clicked it off early. Marc Caruso's incremental times: 60ft-0.965 sec., 330ft-2.557, 660ft-3.820/195.36 mph, 1,000ft-4.904.

Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 10.117/81.56, Now #23; Best prior run: 9.620/89.88, Was #23
Right Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 5.953/253.75, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.953/253.75, Was #10

Castellana made a quick move toward the wall before he clicked it off.

Matusek with good looking pass in this new car of his, straight down the groove. Steve Matusek's incremental times: 60ft-1.028 sec., 330ft-2.731, 660ft-4.002/196.93 mph, 1,000ft-5.065.

Left Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 8.637/127.27, Now #20; Best prior run: 9.413/123.89, Was #22
Right Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 5.777/249.86, Now #1; Best prior run: 11.123/77.00, Was #29

Whiteley was real loose early and clicked it off.

alBalooshi launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Khalid alBalooshi's incremental times: 60ft-0.972 sec., 330ft-2.577, 660ft-3.823/199.49 mph, 1,000ft-4.880.

Left Lane: Mike Janis Runs 6.410/148.40, Now #17; Best prior run: 9.283/91.75, Was #23
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 5.801/240.12, Now #4; Best prior run: 11.003/75.25, Was #29

Janis lost traction early and clicked it off.

Smith started drifting out of the groove on the top end before he clicked it off. He gets in the show up to the number four spot. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.014 sec., 330ft-2.637, 660ft-3.865/202.76 mph, 1,000ft-4.907.

Left Lane: Sidnei Frigo Runs 5.815/254.57, Now #5; Best prior run: 8.420/113.21, Was #21
Right Lane: Steven Whiteley Runs 11.918/72.02, Now #29; Best prior run: 10.982/79.64, Was #29

Frigo was on a good looking pass until on the top end when it started drifting out of the groove toward the centerline. He stayed with it to go to the number five spot. Sidnei Frigo's incremental times: 60ft-1.011 sec., 330ft-2.648, 660ft-3.883/201.40 mph, 1,000ft-4.931.

Whiteley shook and made a quick move toward the centerline before he clicked it off.

Left Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 6.237/225.18, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.364/182.06, Was #20
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 8.440/108.11, Now #22; Best prior run: 10.312/85.97, Was #28

Satterfield made a big move in the right direction, but will not get in the show. Clint Satterfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.713, 660ft-4.069/180.74 mph, 1,000ft-5.250.

King shook and shut it off.

Enders is straight down the groove to get in the show on the bump. Erica Enders' incremental times: 60ft-1.023 sec., 330ft-2.786, 660ft-4.083/192.00 mph, 1,000ft-5.165.

Krolow launched hard and kept it hitting on all eight to get in the top half of the show. Jader Krolow's incremental times: 60ft-0.992 sec., 330ft-2.616, 660ft-3.861/199.40 mph, 1,000ft-4.916.

Left Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 6.138/240.04, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.397/232.99, Was #20
Right Lane: Doug Winters Runs 8.291/113.47, Now #23; Best prior run: 9.953/89.95, Was #28

Snider improves, but will not get in the show.

Winters with tire shake and he clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jeremy Ray Runs 5.729/249.44, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.137/206.70, Was #18
Right Lane: Chad Green Runs 15.649/52.56, Now #27; Best prior run: 9.020/102.96, Was #27

Ray launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Jeremy Ray's incremental times: 60ft-0.939 sec., 330ft-2.506, 660ft-3.757/197.77 mph, 1,000ft-4.826.

Green with severe tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Eric Latino Runs 5.969/243.90, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.071/239.82, Was #18
Right Lane: Steve Jackson Runs 6.808/133.84, Now #22; Best prior run: 8.977/101.06, Was #26

Latino improves enough to get in the show on the bubble. Eric Latino's incremental times: 60ft-1.052 sec., 330ft-2.692, 660ft-3.969/194.27 mph, 1,000ft-5.054.

Jackson was out of the groove and made a move toward the centerline before he clicked it off.

Flamholc with shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Hord with a lot shake early and he clicked it off.

Farber with severe tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Scruggs with a great looking pass to get into the top half of show. Jason Scruggs' incremental times: 60ft-0.963 sec., 330ft-2.548, 660ft-3.806/196.42 mph, 1,000ft-4.883.

Rahaim shook early and clicked it off.

this is a great side-by-side drag race to wrap up day one of Pro Mod qualifying.

Tutterow is straight down the groove with another great pass. He improves, but will stay in the number three spot. Todd Tutterow's incremental times: 60ft-0.959 sec., 330ft-2.531, 660ft-3.787/196.85 mph, 1,000ft-4.860.

Gonzalez launched hard and kept it hitting on all eight and hooked up to go to the number one spot. Jose Gonzalez's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.590, 660ft-3.814/203.03 mph, 1,000ft-4.851.
