GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 50th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Dom Lagana Runs 3.822/298.40, Now #3; Best prior run: 8.665/78.90, Was #16
Right Lane: Chris Karamesines Runs 4.048/251.63, Now #8; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 82 degrees, relative humidity 57 percent, barometer 29.81 inches, adjusted altitude 2,485 feet, track temperature 95 degrees.

Lagana launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number three spot. Dom Lagana's incremental times: 60ft-0.848 sec., 330ft-2.169, 660ft-3.060/284.81 mph.

Karamesines didn't make a pass earlier today...making his first pass this season. He is straight down the groove with a good clean pass. Chris Karamesines' incremental times: 60ft-0.878 sec., 330ft-2.242, 660ft-3.179/273.55 mph.

Left Lane: Clay Millican Runs 4.075/228.38, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.664/118.23, Was #17
Right Lane: Pat Dakin Runs 6.085/103.47, Now #18; No Prior Run

Millican was on a good pass just past half track when the car went silent.., the car pitched the blower belt. He gets in the show.

Dakin was inducted in the Internation Drag Race Hall of Fame last night. He is the only Pro driver that was at the inaugural Gatornationals driving in Top Gas. Dakin didn't make a pass earlier today. He loses traction early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Richie Crampton Runs 3.821/317.12, Now #3; Best prior run: 4.664/164.33, Was #16

Crampton with the header flames shooting high over the rear wing all the way down the track. Richie Crampton's incremental times: 60ft-0.854 sec., 330ft-2.170, 660ft-3.065/283.07 mph. He goes to the number three spot.

Left Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.859/322.27, Now #8; Best prior run: 4.592/171.16, Was #15
Right Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 3.845/317.72, Now #7; Best prior run: 4.605/166.50, Was #16

This was a good side-by-side drag race.

Prock kept it hitting on all eight all the way down the track to get into the top half of the show. Austin Prock's incremental times: 60ft-0.870 sec., 330ft-2.200, 660ft-3.106/280.89 mph.

McMillen is straight down the groove with a good looking pass to go to the number seven spot. Terry McMillen's incremental times: 60ft-0.862 sec., 330ft-2.168, 660ft-3.086/277.43 mph.

Left Lane: Mike Salinas Runs 3.930/241.93, Now #11; Best prior run: 4.300/191.05, Was #16
Right Lane: Jordan Vandergriff Runs 3.846/293.09, Now #8; Best prior run: 4.238/201.73, Was #15

Salinas was on a good looking pass until it started drifting out of the groove toward the centerline before he clicked it off. Mike Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.841 sec., 330ft-2.135, 660ft-3.034/270.81 mph.

Vandergriff kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to get into the top half of the show. Jordan Vandergriff's incremental times: 60ft-0.848 sec., 330ft-2.154, 660ft-3.064/276.75 mph.

Left Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.800/323.81, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.908/320.89, Was #10
Right Lane: Scott Palmer Runs 3.812/319.90, Now #3; Best prior run: 4.224/204.35, Was #16

Force launched hard and kept it hooked up to tie Torrence's E.T. she will get the number one spot based on her faster speed. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.856 sec., 330ft-2.161, 660ft-3.059/285.17 mph.

Palmer with a great looking pass to go to the number three spot. Scott Palmer's incremental times: 60ft-0.840 sec., 330ft-2.155, 660ft-3.060/281.60 mph.

Left Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.776/321.50, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.827/318.62, Was #8

Kalitta launched hard and kept it hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.146, 660ft-3.031/286.62 mph.

Left Lane: T.J. Zizzo Runs 3.762/323.35, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.827/320.74, Was #8
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 4.743/156.21, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.010/246.30, Was #13

Zizzo had the header flames shooting over the rear wing all the way down the track to go to the number one spot. T.J. Zizzo's incremental times: 60ft-0.825 sec., 330ft-2.119, 660ft-3.017/284.21 mph.

Brown over powered the track early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.849/314.53, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.800/320.51, Was #4
Right Lane: Leah Pritchett Runs 6.918/100.84, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.818/321.88, Was #6

Torrence with another good pass, but will not improve. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.851 sec., 330ft-2.167, 660ft-3.081/277.32 mph.

Pritchett lost traction early and clicked it off.
