Puckett, Caheely, Wahl and Miller III Win the BABY-Gators

Cummings, Daniel, Brown and Laris also Win




GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Van Puckett (Competition Eliminator), Tyler Caheely (Super Stock), Jim Wahl (Stock Eliminator), Ray Miller III (Super Comp), Cole Cummings (Super Gas), Jimmy Daniel (Super Street), Derrick Brown (Top Sportsman), Ross Laris (Top Dragster), Aaron Reynolds (Advanced Junior Dragster), Jada Sexton (Intermediate Junior Dragster) and Nolan Callahan (Novice Junior Dragster) win Wallys at the Fourth annual BABY-Gators at Gainesvillle Raceway.


Van Puckett
Van Puckett won Competition Eliminator defeating Frank Aragona in the final. He qualified number one in G/AA '05 Cavalier with 8.085 second pass -0.725 (under index). He got the bye in round one, defeated Brad Plourd in round two, he had a great light to defeat Jim Greenheck in round three, Tony Terry went red in the semifinal to give him the win. This was the second time Puckett and Aragona raced in a Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series final with Puckett getting the win the first time. Puckett was able to hold on for the win in final as Aragona slowed. Puckett won his 11th Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Wally. This was Puckett's third win at the Gainesville Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series race.


Tyler Caheely

Tyler Caheely drove his SS/TB '00 Chevy S-10 through seven rounds to win the Super Stock title. He defeated Brian Oakes in round one on a hole shot, in round two against David Rampy they both had great lights with Rampy getting the slight edge 0.003 seconds to Caheely's 0.007, but Rampy took too much stripe to give Caheely the win. Duane Eiskant went red in round three to give Caheely the win. He had a near perfect light in round four 0.001 seconds to put Brad Plourd on the trailer. He had another great light 0.006 seconds in round five to defeat Mark Nowicki. In the semifinal he was able to chase down Joe Lisa for the win. In the final Irvin Johns was a few ticks too quick on the tree turning on the red lioght to give Caheely the win. This his sixth Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Wally and fifth in Super Stock.


Jim Wahl

Jim Wahl won his first Stock Eliminator Lucas Drag Racing Series Wally in his first final round. He defeated Jim Nichols in round one, he defeated Wallace Dent in round two. In round three he had a great light 0.009 seconds to beat Jeff Strickland. He got the bye in round four and defeated Mike Cotton round five. In the semifinal he defeated Nick Reiter. He had the starting line advantage and an 0039 package for the win in the final over Mike McMahan.

Ray Miller III

Ray Miller III won his second Super Comp title this year. In round one he had a great light 0.005 seconds to defeated Top Dragster winner Ross Laris when he broke. Round two Frank Altilio went red to give Miller the win, in round three he had the slight starting line advantage to defeat Edmond Richardson. He beat Holden Laris in round four and Jonathan Anderson in round five. Miller got the bye in the semifinal, in the final he got a couple ticks on the Christmas tree to defeat Sherman Adcock. Miller won his 18th Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Wally in 28 finals, and eighth win in Super Comp.

Cole Cummings

In Super Gas Cole Cummings defeated Travis Giddens who go the starting line advantage, but took too much stripe to give Cummings the win. Round one he had the starting line advantage for the win over Lauren Edwards, in round two he defeated Bill Trum. Round three John Taylor got the starting line advantage, but took too much stripe to give Cummings the win. Ronnie Lindsey had a great light, but broke out to give Cummings the round four win. Cummings had a great light 0.008 seconds to defeat Jason Kenny in round five. Cummings got the bye in the semifinal to advance to his second Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series final. Cummings collected his first Wally at a Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event.

Jimmy Daniel

Round one of Super Street Frank Sergi had a great light, but Jimmy Daniel chased him down for the win in a close one, margin of victory 0.0200 seconds (approximately 4 feet). In round two Quinn Holton went red to give Daniel the win, in round three Daniel got the win when Ronald Strayhorn was a little too quick on the tree and turned on the red light. In round four Kevin White had a great light, but took too much stripe to give Daniel the win. Daniel had the starting line advantage to defeat Alex Miller, he then had the bye in the semifinal. In the final he had a great light 0.007 second and got the win when Jeffrey Weets broke out. Daniel won his third Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Wally.

Derrick Brown

Derrick Brown qualified his '00 Chevy S-10 in the number 29 position in Stotts Ford Top Sportsman. Round one William Simmons had a great light 0.008 seconds, but Brown was able to hold him off as he ran dead on his dial with a four (dial-in 7.31 seconds, E.T. 7.314, 0.004 over the index). Round two Brown had the starting line advantage and the win over John Taylor. In round three he defeated the number one qualifier Lester Johnson. Brown had a great light and a 0.022 second package for the win over Dylan Stott. Brown had a near perfect light in the final to defeat Curt Fredrich. Brown won his first Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Wally in his second final round.

Ross Laris

Ross Laris from Raceland, La. Qualified his Nelson dragster in the number one spot in Hickory Enclosed Trailer Sales Top Dragster with a 6.113 second pass at 203.92 mph. Laris with the starting line advantage in round one to defeat Robert Houston. Round two Laris defeated Greg Gallagher in a great drag race they both had great packages Laris' package: 0.016 seconds to Gallagher's package 0.025 seconds, Laris' margin of victory was 0.0090 seconds (approximately 3 feet). William Brown went red to give Laris the win, in the semifinal he got the freebie when John Toolis was a no-show. In the final Mike Gurliaccio got the starting line advantage, but Laris was able to chase him down for the win in a close one Laris' margin of victory was 0.0020 seconds (approximately 7 inches). Laris won his seventh Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Wally, and his fourth win in Top Dragster.

Aaron Reynolds

Aaron Reynolds won Advanced Junior Dragster defeating Brandon Miller when he turned on the red light.

Jada Sexton

Jada Sexton won Intermediate Junior Dragster defeating Alyson Reyolds.

Nolan Callahan

Nolan Callahan won Novice Junior Dragster defeating Kylan Bator.

Tyler Caheely, Chevrolet, 11.390, 82.21 def. Irvin Johns, Cavalier, Foul - Red Light.
