BRAINERD, Minn. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 37th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Dale Creasy Jr. Runs 4.141/267.59, Now #17; Best prior run: 4.529/175.87, Was #17
Right Lane: Gary Densham Runs 4.107/315.64, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.222/157.91, Was #18

4:58 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 50 percent, barometer 28.66 inches, adjusted altitude 3,968 feet.

Densham moves up to the number 15 spot. Creasy just misses making the field.

Left Lane: Bob Bode Runs 4.018/316.01, Now #7; Best prior run: 4.113/307.72, Was #16
Right Lane: Del Worsham Runs 4.028/321.04, Now #11; Best prior run: 4.495/214.93, Was #18

Both drivers step it up and make it into the show tomorrow.

Bob Bode's incremental times: 60ft-0.887 sec., 330ft-2.284, 660ft-3.245/270.21 mph.
Del Worsham's incremental times: 60ft-0.900 sec., 330ft-2.321, 660ft-3.270/273.61 mph.

Left Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 4.083/271.13, Now #16; Best prior run: 4.081/305.84, Was #16
Right Lane: Jonnie Lindberg Runs 4.155/244.65, Now #15; Best prior run: 4.081/314.53, Was #15

Pedregon drifts to the left and he scrapes the wall before the finish line. That will DQ this run for him. Lindberg does not improve.

Left Lane: Ron Capps Runs 3.969/319.67, Now #2; Best prior run: 4.030/317.57, Was #14
Right Lane: Jack Beckman Runs 4.052/315.71, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.029/317.05, Was #13

A decent pass by Beckman and a strong pass by Capps. That moves Capps into the number two spot for now. Ron Capps' incremental times: 60ft-0.876 sec., 330ft-2.268, 660ft-3.208/275.11 mph.

Left Lane: John Force Runs 6.505/100.59, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.029/322.04, Was #13
Right Lane: Courtney Force Runs 4.040/282.78, Now #10; Best prior run: 4.025/318.02, Was #10

John struck the tires at about 200 feet. Courtney dropped a cylinder before the finish and she did not improve.

Left Lane: Bob Tasca III Runs 5.036/152.38, Now #11; Best prior run: 4.026/318.09, Was #11
Right Lane: Tommy Johnson Jr. Runs 4.003/315.64, Now #5; Best prior run: 4.017/317.42, Was #7

Tasca hazed the tires at the 330-foot mark. Johnson makes a solid pass and he moves up two spots in the order. Tommy Johnson Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.878 sec., 330ft-2.283, 660ft-3.233/272.56 mph.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 4.018/316.15, Now #8; Best prior run: 4.023/318.17, Was #9
Right Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 4.013/321.04, Now #6; Best prior run: 4.013/320.51, Was #6

A good looking pass by both drivers. Todd moves up one spot in the order.

J.R. Todd's incremental times: 60ft-0.897 sec., 330ft-2.293, 660ft-3.248/272.06 mph.
Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.889 sec., 330ft-2.288, 660ft-3.248/271.41 mph.

Right Lane: Tim Wilkerson Runs 10.652/84.28, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.991/318.32, Was #4

Wilkerson lost traction right after the hit. He will start from the number four spot tomorrow.

Left Lane: Matt Hagan Runs 4.421/200.23, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.990/324.51, Was #3
Right Lane: Robert Hight Runs 3.994/324.59, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.959/324.67, Was #1

Hagan hazed the tires well before the finish. Hight makes another solid pass. Hight will start from the number one spot for the second time this season and the 59th time in his career.

Robert Hight's incremental times: 60ft-0.886 sec., 330ft-2.294, 660ft-3.238/273.22 mph.
