BAYTOWN, Texas - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 31st annual NHRA SpringNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Rick Hord Runs 5.785/252.66, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.956/241.41, Was #20

Weather conditions: air temperature 70 degrees, relative humidity 73 percent, barometer 29.99 inches, adjusted altitude 1,378 feet, track temperature 80 degrees.

Hord launched hard and kept it hooked up to make his career quickest and fastest pass to go to the number nine spot. Rick Hord's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.613, 660ft-3.848/201.46 mph, 1,000ft-4.897.

Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 11.933/76.52, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.892/247.16, Was #17

Stevens launched with the front end in the air and made a quick move toward the centerline before he clicked it off.

Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.111/239.82, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.866/240.81, Was #15

Enders spun right at the hit and then was straight down the groove.

Left Lane: Shane Molinari No Time, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.784/255.97, Was #8
Right Lane: Doug Winters Runs 5.971/242.02, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.018/242.98, Was #23

Molinari can't get the car to fire and is pushed off the starting line.

Winters is straight down the groove with his quickest pass this weekend, but will not get in the show. Doug Winters' incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.644, 660ft-3.944/191.95 mph, 1,000ft-5.045.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 5.756/250.04, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.768/251.58, Was #6
Right Lane: Harry Hruska Runs 6.789/161.56, Now #25; Best prior run: 6.481/237.96, Was #25

Smith launched hard and kept it hooked up to improve one spot on the ladder. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.565, 660ft-3.805/199.76 mph, 1,000ft-4.860.

Hruska labored off the starting line and then started smoking around half track and was trailing smoke all the way down the track.

Left Lane: Pete Farber Runs 5.894/242.54, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.090/190.19, Was #24
Right Lane: Chad Green Runs 10.200/87.14, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.746/250.23, Was #4

Farber with his quickest pass of the weekend, but will not get in the show.

King with his quickest pass this season, but will not get in the show.

Matusek with his quickest pass of the season, but comes up short of getting into the show.

Frigo with a little wiggle right at the hit, but stays with it and runs his quickest pass of the season to get in the show. Sidnei Frigo's incremental times: 60ft-1.012 sec., 330ft-2.624, 660ft-3.877/198.00 mph, 1,000ft-4.941.

Stevenson with tire shake right at the hit and clicks it off.

Rowe was straight down the groove with his quickest and fastest pass of the season to get in the show. Danny Rowe's incremental times: 60ft-0.954 sec., 330ft-2.583, 660ft-3.859/196.04 mph, 1,000ft-4.932.

Castellana with his quickest and fastest pass of the weekend to get in the show. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.587, 660ft-3.840/197.77 mph, 1,000ft-4.907.

alBalooshi launched hard and kept it hooked up to get into the top half of the show. Khalid alBalooshi's incremental times: 60ft-0.954 sec., 330ft-2.547, 660ft-3.791/199.58 mph, 1,000ft-4.849.

Left Lane: Michael Biehle Runs 12.070/80.89, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.815/253.09, Was #14
Right Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 5.972/243.02, Now #26; Best prior run: 5.976/242.76, Was #26

Biehle is real loose at the hit and clicked it off.

Satterfield with his quickest and fastest pass this weekend, but will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 5.823/245.14, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.788/247.97, Was #12
Right Lane: Chuck Little Runs 5.918/243.63, Now #24; Best prior run: 5.929/240.00, Was #24

Little was trailing some smoke, but still makes his quickest pass of the weekend, but will not move up on the ladder.

Whiteley with tire shake and clicked off.
