BAYTOWN, Texas - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 31st annual NHRA SpringNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Pete Farber Runs 6.090/190.19, Now #19; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 8.199/115.78, Now #23; Best prior run: 10.047/87.37, Was #26

Weather conditions: air temperature 70 degrees, relative humidity 51 percent, barometer 30.08 inches, adjusted altitude 1,135 feet, track temperature 88 degrees.

Farber was on a good pass until on the top end when the car started drifting out of the groove and got close to the wall before he clicked it off.

Rowe with tire shake and clicked it off.

Castellana launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number ten spot. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.953 sec., 330ft-2.548, 660ft-3.792/199.29 mph, 1,000ft-4.856.

Little was straight down the groove to get in the show in on the bubble. Chuck Little's incremental times: 60ft-0.953 sec., 330ft-2.581, 660ft-3.881/188.78 mph, 1,000ft-4.994.

Left Lane: Brandon Snider No Time, Now #28; Best prior run: 9.147/108.79, Was #27
Right Lane: Dan Stevenson Runs 5.912/211.49, Now #15; Best prior run: 9.410/98.54, Was #28

Snider was on a good pass, but then and crosses the centerline.

Stevenson makes a good pass to get in the show.

Right Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 5.774/248.16, Now #4; Best prior run: 8.375/111.91, Was #26

King was loose on the top end and clicked it off.

Rahaim with tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Ray launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number three spot with a great pass. Jeremy Ray's incremental times: 60ft-0.960 sec., 330ft-2.543, 660ft-3.791/198.64 mph, 1,000ft-4.858.

Hruska rolled the beam and will not get a time.

Satterfield was leaking oil right at the hit...Clint Satterfield was charged with an oildown, #1 for the season. That will cost 5 points.

Right Lane: Doug Winters No Time, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.018/242.98, Was #22

Biehle with a good pass, but will not improve. Michael Biehle's incremental times: 60ft-1.008 sec., 330ft-2.611, 660ft-3.878/193.57 mph, 1,000ft-4.939.

Winters is loose early and takes out the half track cones. That will cost him five points.

Gonzales launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. He makes the second quickest pass in the history of Pro Mod. He sets the track speed record. Jose Gonzalez's incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.581, 660ft-3.796/197.10 mph, 1,000ft-4.823.

Frigo with tire shake and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 5.800/247.25, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.788/247.97, Was #9
Right Lane: Steven Whiteley Runs 5.825/249.12, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.858/248.93, Was #13

This was a great side-by-side drag race by the father and son team.

Jim with another good pass, but doesn't improve. Jim Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.957 sec., 330ft-2.555, 660ft-3.815/196.82 mph, 1,000ft-4.891.

Steven improves one spot on the ladder. Steven Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.969 sec., 330ft-2.589, 660ft-3.851/197.31 mph, 1,000ft-4.923.

Left Lane: Shane Molinari Runs 10.968/79.24, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.784/255.97, Was #8
Right Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 6.640/132.49, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.796/251.02, Was #10

Molinari with tire shake and clicked it off.

alBalooshi was real loose and was out of the groove over by the wall before he clicked it off.

Smith with tire shake and clicked it off.

Janis launched hard and was straight down the groove with his career quickest pass to go to the number two spot. Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-0.944 sec., 330ft-2.503, 660ft-3.745/199.55 mph, 1,000ft-4.810.

Jackson kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make his career quickest pass to go to the number two spot. Steve Jackson's incremental times: 60ft-0.936 sec., 330ft-2.501, 660ft-3.744/199.20 mph, 1,000ft-4.806.

Green with problems on the burnout and the Safety Safari pushes him back to the starting line.
