BAYTOWN, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 31st annual NHRA SpringNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 7.232/150.31, Now #2
Right Lane: John Gaydosh Jr Runs 6.592/210.93, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 46 percent, barometer 30.10 inches, adjusted altitude 1,185 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Brogdon is in a KB powered car and this is his first race since Chicago 2015, so it his first time in the Fuel Injected Pro Stock car. He pushed in the clutch early.

Gaydosh with his second appearance of the year and his quickest of the season. John Gaydosh Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.014 sec., 330ft-2.783, 660ft-4.256/167.80 mph, 1,000ft-5.524.

Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.537/212.73, Now #1
Right Lane: Steve Graham Runs 13.979/60.92, Now #4

Hartford is straight down the groove with his quickest pass this season. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.748, 660ft-4.212/168.85 mph, 1,000ft-5.475.

Graham with tire shake and pushed the clutch back in.

Left Lane: Alan Prusiensky Runs 11.608/76.33, Now #5
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.504/212.36, Now #1

Prusiensky with tire shake and clicked it off.

Coughlin launched hard and was straight down the groove with his quickest and fastest pass this season to go to the number one spot. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.726, 660ft-4.184/169.06 mph, 1,000ft-5.444.

Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 8.272/117.00, Now #5
Right Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 12.644/68.13, Now #7

Enders shook and clicked it off.

Laughlin with severe tire shake right at the hit and pushed the clutch back in.

Left Lane: Tanner Gray Runs 6.541/211.99, Now #4
Right Lane: Drew Skillman Runs 6.527/212.29, Now #2

This was a great side-by-side drag race...

Gray is straight down the groove to the number four spot. Tanner Gray's incremental times: 60ft-1.004 sec., 330ft-2.760, 660ft-4.221/169.00 mph, 1,000ft-5.480.

Skillman kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Drew Skillman's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.747, 660ft-4.211/168.72 mph, 1,000ft-5.469.

Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.492/213.00, Now #1
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.518/211.16, Now #3

Anderson launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. He makes his quickest and ties his fastest pass this season. He sets both ends of the track record. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.727, 660ft-4.183/169.89 mph, 1,000ft-5.437. Anderson runs the ninth quickest pass of the EFI era.

Line was right there with him to go to the number three spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.741, 660ft-4.201/168.98 mph, 1,000ft-5.459.

Left Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.527/212.29, Now #5
Right Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 6.558/211.83, Now #8

Nobile is straight down the groove to go to the number five spot. Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.740, 660ft-4.202/168.30 mph, 1,000ft-5.464.

Kramer with a good clean pass to get into the top half of the show. Deric Kramer's incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.753, 660ft-4.225/167.24 mph, 1,000ft-5.494.

Left Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.559/211.93, Now #9
Right Lane: Bo Butner Runs 6.559/203.16, Now #10

They run identical E.T.s and McGaha will get the higher spot based on his faster mph.

Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.761, 660ft-4.230/167.70 mph, 1,000ft-5.494.
Bo Butner's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.755, 660ft-4.224/168.91 mph, 1,000ft-5.490.
